I'm sorry this is not really related to Dulwich, but I wondered if anyone could give me some advice? I want to book a holiday for myself and my twin sons who are 15. Everywhere I look is pretty expensive as they seem to charge 15 year olds as adults, so would it be wise to hang on and book a late deal? Do these really work out much cheaper? I'm thinking of going at the beginning of july.

Leave them at home - I found being left when my parents went on holiday very character building - I learnt to cook, to remove spiders from shower without being scared etc etc etc. Hopefully they won't mess the place up and the women in their later lives will thank you.

edited for typo

We are taking two 15 year olds to Cuba, a bit further afield I know. BUT where we are going is 24 hr all inclusive which includes all boat rides and activities. 24hr food and drinks so they wont be tapping me every 5 mins! PLUS It comes highly recommended as being safe for teens.

For four of us it is costing ?3600 which I think is very good value for money.

We booked with Thomas Cook on 0800 072 6055.

If you stay in Sol Cayo Coco the childs age limit is 16 ( I didnt see that until I had booked mine grr).

We are staying at Brisas Guardalavaca. One of my friend's goes there about 3 x a year so we know it's ok.

We took four boys - ages 15-17 - to the Algarve for a week and they loved it. Great hotel (booked the day before we left), lots of night life, safe for the boys to go out wandering, very English pubs and clubs, great beaches. Look for anything near the beach in Algarve and it should be inexpensive and easy to find. have fun!! Fly into Faro airport, coach from there to the hotel. Go for a package so that breakfast is included (if they wake up for it!!)

    • The programme was brilliant and makes me wary now of sea paddling as so many areas affected. My daughter was working at a bank when privatisation of utility companies were floated. Bank advised its staff that only x number of shares could be purchased by individuals as Government rules at that time. She reported that certain people were seeking double and triple shares. Bank told her to ignore the guidelines as those customers had thousands of pounds in the bank. She was so disgusted at the banks attitude she handed in her notice, She decided that the financial world was too corrupt. Two degrees later - she now works in the NHS as an OT in mental health unit.

    • Petition Urge Israeli Government to stop law allowing execution of Palestinian prisoners The UK Government must act urgently to urge the Israeli Government to stop the proposed law which would permit the execution of Palestinian Prisoners, past, present and future. More details We believe that such a law would constitute complete violation of the Geneva Convention and International Human Rights Law. UN experts have called for these proposals to be dropped. We call on the UK Government apply considerable and substantial political pressure and the leverage of its international obligations to prevent the Israeli Government from passing this law.
