We had a bird fly into the back door and knock himself out. Looked like a gonner, but after a couple of minutes he was lying on his side shaking, then fifteen minutes later he was moving around a little near the wall of the house, and finally he took off.

Carp may also see off any frogs BTW.

There were 2 ducklings at 7am this morning but only 1 an hour later !:(

Notonecta glauca - waterboatman on stream to left of oval by the main gates

100s of Minnows (I think) and one moorhen chick in Japanese Garden lake

9 new ducklings on big lake

And several unusual bugs in the meadow parts wot I can't identify.

Quite a few previously unseen roustabouts on the common.

Evening nature lovers! I haven't been to Rye park for ages and it sounds like there's loads going on nature wise so I must have a look. I thought the Kingfisher was a wind up but obviously not!

Anyway, I saw this on a leaflet and thought it might be of interest to some of you. It's an eveing tour of the 'Medicine Garden' at the Horniman, another place I haven't been to for a while.

I had one in my garden last year, it sat on the ground in the corner with its claws in a starling. I only saw it because the poor starling was making such a racket and I went to see what was going on. It was practically as big as my garden :)

On this occasion Mr Rachel Reeves was sorting out the rental agreement.  Ms Reeves was a bit flumoxed with all the grief/demonsing/witch hunts she is getting so forgot to check with her other half.   Not the first or last time this will happen with couples. (That's not having a go at the post above)
    • Hello! I'm looking for a talented, affordable people photographer to do headshots for my start up's website, for 4 people. If you're keen I'd love to see examples of your work please. Many thanks
    • I’d also like to recommend Greg who has done a brilliant job creating an in-built wardrobe, desk and shelving unit in my daughter’s bedroom. It’s transformed the room and I have one very happy daughter as a consequence! He previously did some floating shelves in another bedroom - another excellent job. I can highly recommend.
