Peckhamgatecrasher
Invasion of the duckling snatchers ...Just seen three huge carp in the lake - one of them over a foot long. That could account for the high body count. There is a new duckling today, so I hope it survives. louisiana
We had a bird fly into the back door and knock himself out. Looked like a gonner, but after a couple of minutes he was lying on his side shaking, then fifteen minutes later he was moving around a little near the wall of the house, and finally he took off.Carp may also see off any frogs BTW. I have seen it a couple of times (but not in the last year or so) by the small pond in the Japanese garden, is that the one you mean? Keep us informed, PGC. Peckhamgatecrasher
Yup, that's the one. I was tipped the wink by the litter-picker-upper, so sat for five mins and was rewarded by a blur of orange. TheePope
Evening nature lovers! I haven't been to Rye park for ages and it sounds like there's loads going on nature wise so I must have a look. I thought the Kingfisher was a wind up but obviously not! Anyway, I saw this on a leaflet and thought it might be of interest to some of you. It's an eveing tour of the 'Medicine Garden' at the Horniman, another place I haven't been to for a while. I only saw it because the poor starling was making such a racket and I went to see what was going on. It was practically as big as my garden :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/330000-ed-nature-watch/page/12/#findComment-221942 Share on other sites
