What is the best route to Paddington?

Recommended Posts

Tend to go for train to Elephant and Castle (from Denmark Hill) or bus to Elephant (if you can stand sitting on the Walworth Road for ages) and then Bakerloo line from there.

12 to lambeth north then Bakerloo all the way to paddington.

We've done this a few times to get to heathrow express and it's always been fine. The key was l.north. much less stressful than a change at E&C, which is always busy and a bit of a maze - l.north is only on the bakerloo so the station is small and not many people use it, plus it doesn't have the subway rabbit warren of E&C.

Belatedly chucking in my advice. I do this route very regularly (too regularly) as I have to go to Cardiff for work frequently. I've tried every route possible but the best is overground ED to London Bridge, Jubilee Line to Baker Street, Bakerloo Line to Paddington (the interchange at Baker Street only involves walking through a short passageway on the same level) I promise you this is the quickest route.
