Earl Aelfheah
Just received a first class letter that’s stamped 13th September 🙄 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/332587-royal-mail-late-deliveries-and-the-price-we-have-to-pay/page/8/#findComment-1681253 Share on other sites
Earl Aelfheah
We are also missing some birthday cards that we know were sent and never turned up. I 100% do not trust our local postal service 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/332587-royal-mail-late-deliveries-and-the-price-we-have-to-pay/page/8/#findComment-1681266 Share on other sites

Posties can only physically carry parcels to far fewer addresses than letters, which means even on existing walks they don't take letters out wit them if they are carrying parcels. Because they cannot walk to the DO (in Peckham) they have to drive there and back, with two or 3 walks worth in each van. Making covering another postie's walk that much more difficult. 2 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/332587-royal-mail-late-deliveries-and-the-price-we-have-to-pay/page/8/#findComment-1681274 Share on other sites
kiera
Royal Mail's parcel delivery service is not as good as most of the couriers' in my experience. Despite my redirection instructions, twice, and their acknowledgements, twice, they've delivered my online order regardless to the address (outside our area), with a confirmatory photo showing it prominently propped up against the front door, where it would still be if I hadn't made some frantic texts to a neighbour, luckily. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/332587-royal-mail-late-deliveries-and-the-price-we-have-to-pay/page/8/#findComment-1681292 Share on other sites
MaryT
The issue with mail delivery is getting ridulous. Once again, I've had a late dump of post, some of it over 3 weeks late. Like others, yet another parking fine which has escalated because it wasn't received on time. I'll now have to pay £170; and a Vehicle Tax reminder, the date of which has already past. None of us will get anywhere appealing these things with the issuing authorities by simply saying that the post was late. We ever can't prove that letters weren't delivered. I've emailed my MP yet again but I'm at the point of going to the Peckham sorting office with my protest placard!! Anyone else? 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/332587-royal-mail-late-deliveries-and-the-price-we-have-to-pay/page/8/#findComment-1681960 Share on other sites

Do they send you an email the day before and the day of delivery saying they have your package and between what hours they expect to deliver? That’s what they used to do with my deliveries, but not recently. Actually, our current MP, and particularly the one before, have substantial evidence of the Peckham DO's failures in mail delivery and they can be prayed in aid as regards any appeals. Although, in law, proof of posting is normally accepted as proof of receipt as regards the Royal Mail; the evidence of local and continuing Dulwich DO failures is clear and well recorded by our MPs. I would write letters to any issuing authorities citing known and continued failures of the Dulwich DO to deliver in a timely fashion, cite correspondence with local MPs and (visibly) copy your appeal to both Helen Hays and Ms Reeves. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/332587-royal-mail-late-deliveries-and-the-price-we-have-to-pay/page/8/#findComment-1682003 Share on other sites
Dulwich dweller
We got a delivery today in the Gardens. It's only the second bit of post we've seen in five working days. My postman told me the the local MP had visited their office this week to find out what was going on. Hopefully the visit will give them a kick up the backside if they're were being slack. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/332587-royal-mail-late-deliveries-and-the-price-we-have-to-pay/page/8/#findComment-1682052 Share on other sites
