baby friendly afternoon tea

A friend has kindly offered to treat me to afternoon tea next week, but I'll have to take my 7 month old with me. Any suggestions for somewhere suitable? Needs to be central as she's coming in from out of town and not too expensive as she's paying

In and around East Dulwich? If so, the most child friendly cafes I go to are The Dish & The Spoon (Cheltenham Rd, Nunhead, near Harris Girls school), and the Duck Egg cafe on Northcross Rd.

sorry, I meant somewhere in central London (as it'll be easier for her to get to than ED) and that does the whole sandwiches scones and cakes thing.

Had a lovely afternoon tea at the cafe in st James park a while ago, pre children but I think they are v child friendly. We took some friends for lunch at the Dorchester with their 18 mo and 3yo a couple of years ago and they were great with them.

The orangery in Kensington park gardens is lovely - went there when mine was 6 months. Fantastic cakes. Also libertys on Oxford st - there cafe on the top floor is really pretty and does the full cake stand works!

We took our then 4 year old twins with us to Browns hotel where they were very child friendly including making some extra ham sandwiches with no butter for my fussy eaters! Sure there was at least one party with a baby there too. Delicious cream teas too! Salivating now just thinking of it!

2nd vote for the Peyton and Byrne place in St. James's park. Lovely surroundings and there are always kids in there. Lovely cakes too!
