Oi!!! (6) you leave Fernando alone. Villa's first was made by Torres and I half expected him to have a shot and not pass the ball. (in a similar style to his goals at WHL and when Chelsea came to Anfield)

In the interview after the game Villa dedicated his 3rd to Torres for his assistance with the first 2. ;-)

Im italian and after last nights defeat i felt sick, however knowing the form of my belle azzuri, they will start playing good football, i must say and this is not sour grapes, but the first goal was offside. The other 2 goals were great and shame on my baby GiGi Bufont for wondering off for a espresso during the game.(he may as well for all the good he did)

Grosso and Del piero changed the tempo of the italian side and if that t**t Roberto Donadoni wakes up and smells the spaghetti al vongole he will realise on friday he will have to start with Del piero and Grosso, the great formation of the 2006 winning team need to be reunited again.

Now il go off for another sob in my latte machiato :-$

Spanish performance last night reminded of, yes you guessed it, Arsenal at their freeflowing best. Aside from my prefence for Turkey to do well, because of my parentage, I wish the Spaniards well, and hope that the Italians continue to play as dismally as they did against the Dutch who played them off the park. Why a nation continue to rely on a side choc a bloc with over the hill players, in the same way that AC Milan do, is beyond me.

no Italy. No ever. Cynical nasty team - Italy are usually supported by either :

a) Italians ( Ethnic or Natives )

b) people who know nothing about football and dont have Brazil to support ( "Pele - best player in history ever " despite their experience of Pele being a few clips on youtube and other people telling them he was the best ever. also used to dedcribe George best by same people )

I think France may be screwed here sadly - utterly typical and wasteful

It has to be Germany now for me

Or teh czechs

Because you're adoration for El Nino should overshadow such minor things. You would have got an assist from him last night and there are also at least another two games to play. Plenty of time for his 4th hat-trick of the season. ;-)

*I stand corrected, still find the moniker somewhat patronising though...sorry*

    • CPR Dave, attendance records are available on Southwark's website. Maggie Browning has attended 100% of meetings. Jon Hartley has attended 65%.
    • I do hope NOT, wouldn't trust Farage as far as I could throw him, Starmer & co.  He's backed by GB News which focus's predominantly on immigration while the BBC focus predominantly on the Israel - Gazza conflict.
    • Everyone gets the point that Corbynites try to make with the "total number of votes cast" statistic, it's just a specious one.  In 2017, Corbyn's Labour got fewer votes than May's Tories (both the percentage of votes and aggregate number of votes). In 2019, Corbyn's Labour fewer votes than Johnson's Tories (both the percentage of votes and aggregate number of votes); and he managed to drop 2.7 million votes or 6.9% of vote share between the two elections. I repeat, he got trounced by Boris F***ing Johnson and the Tories after the Brexit omnishambles. It is not true that a "fairer" electoral system would have seen Labour beat the Tories: Labour simply got fewer votes than the Tories. Corbyn lost twice. There is no metric by which he won the general election. His failure to win was a disaster for the UK, and let Johnson and Truss and Sunak into office. Corbynites have to let go of this delusion that Corbyn but really won somehow if you squint in a certain way. It is completely irrelevant that Labour under Corbyn got more votes than Labour under Starmer. It is like saying Hull City was more successful in its 2014 FA Cup Final than Chelsea was in its 2018 FA Cup Final, because Hull scored 2 goals when Chelsea only scored 1. But guess what - Chelsea won its game and Hull City lost. Corbyn's fans turned out to vote for him - but an even larger group of people who found him repellant were motivated enough to show up and vote Tory.
    • I guess its the thing these days to demonstrate an attitude, in this instance seemingly of the negative kind, instead of taking pride in your work and have standards then 🤷‍♀️
