I’M SORRY BUT IT SEEMS THAT THE BRIDGE ISN’T OPEN YET.

There have been people trespassing on it which gave the impression that it was. The machinery and other plant need to be removed using Cox’s Walk.

I apologise for jumping the gun on this one.

Yes, the footbridge is indeed re-opened, with a nice new surface and the Pissaro panel returned to its rightful place, looking in the same direction as the painting. A pair of painters were finishing off the latticework panels today. This should allow the severely damaged banks of the cutting to recover from four years of trampling.

    • But hang on a minute, did no-one in the Reeves family check that the letting agent had actually done it? #thismaybehowthestorycontinuestodevelop As anyone who has ever dealt with an estate agent knows...trust them with nothing...
    • I saw this sparrowhawk bring down a pigeon in Upland Rd today, a few houses short of Eric's bakery. Nature red in tooth and claw in East Dulwich!
    • Completely agree.  I always go to them for any keys I need cutting and have used them when I've had trouble with a front door lock.  They never opt for an expensive solution if a serviceable alternative exists.  They are friendly, helpful and polite.  They restore my faith in humanity every time I use them.
    • I can think of several possible motivations for your writing that, but can't tell  which.
