I'm sure those with big scores will be flaunting their acumen before long and posting predictions on here -

- and I think I could happily post mine without anyone indulging in skullduggery unless it was of the "if maxxi's going for a home win it's an away banker" kind.

I'll try and get involved - and completley understand how much hassle it was last year...but...

half the fun was looking at people's predictions.

Maxxi's mad punts

El Pibe's continual optimism

Mick Mac's obvious ignorance of all things football (not that he's much better with the oval ball stuff)

Throwing in an 8-0 to wind up Jah

etc etc

For those who want to go public with their predictions.

If you do, best to wait until Meds posts his predictions first though...

Now that is rich coming from a man who spent the latter part of last season waiting for everyone else to post their predictions so he could work out how to stay top of the league.

Gamesmanship? I'd like to call Otta to the stand in my defence.

I haven't got the time or inclination to totally disprove your slanderous accusation, suffice to say, the only strategy I used, which I had openly revealed, was to keep my predictions around the 2-1 scoreline, give or take the odd goal depending on who was playing. Occasionally I would drop in a 4-0 type scoreline, because occasionally that happens, but by and large I think statistically most results end up around 2-1, a slight advantage for the home team. Using that strategy it was totally irrelevant what other players had predicted. In the final few weeks my lead at the top was actually halved by ????. I suppose your suspicious mind will conclude that was deliberate, part of 'The Masterplan'.

In case you're forgetting I also won the FA Cup, a head to head format which required secret predictions. Maybe I should apologise for not revealing my Stasi trained telepathic skills beforehand.

Finally, why would I opt for an online system this season where other predictions won't be seen?

Re. Otta: that was a classic case of you feeling guilty after the event, trying to right a wrong after you admitted to using gamemanship...

Liverpool 2 V 1 Stoke

Arsenal 3 V 1 Aston Villa

Norwich 1 V 2 Everton

Sunderland 1 V 2 Fulham

Swansea 1 V 2 Man Utd

West Brom 1 V 1 Southampton

West Ham 2 V 1 Cardiff

I did odd things twice, but I doubt they can be called cheating, more daft experiments.

I used a 0-2 random number generator once, the results were poor.

And once because I had no time to think, I inverted maxxi's on the theory that he was so bad the opposite must be better, I think that was my worst week ever.

Ok, I apologise for saying you 'admitted' to using gamemanship, you didn't.

You discovered a flaw in the aggregate score rule for the CL game. Did you not use it to your advantage? If not, how did you actually go about making a prediction?

As for guilt, that is between you and your conscience.

    • Another recommendation for Dulwich Test and Services Centre. Only been using them for a couple of years but wish I’d found them earlier
    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.
