Dulwich Park 5k run

I'm doing it. aiming to beat my time on the last one in dulwich park a few months back.

Last time i did a timed 5km i did it in 22mins 50secs so hopefully fingers crossed will beat that.

That's the sort of time I want to try and do it next week. My fastest 5k time is 23 mins but someone told me this race is quite flat so may be able to do it in 22! I ran twice around Brockwell Park yesterday - that was bloomin' hard!

It is pretty flat, certainly nothing on Brockwell. I think you do a lap of the park, then out the court lane gate then down through the village back into the main park entrance on gallery road.

Has anyone received their 'pack' yet? I sent off my payment and details to the address given on website but haven't received anything as yet. I'm assuming you are supposed to get something in the post as they asked for an SAE?

Sorry Jumpin, not been on the forums of late, so missed this question.

I'm not going to be able to make it. Someone has had the audacity to invite me to their 50th birthday party tonight! I have never run a 5k timed, but looking at the monthly 2 mile race I do with the club, which is usually in the 13's I was hoping to go sub 20. Might have to go and try one of the Battersea Park 5k's to get my first official timing.

Talk at the club of late is about tackling an Ultra Marathon...HHmmmmm London to Brighton is tempting...

Still while sipping a beer tonight I'll be thinking of you all. Full report, and race route tomorrow please!

Myself and a friend are running on the day (today) and from looking at the race details its ?8 to enter if you're unattached and ?6 if attached. Don't know if 'attached' means attached to the Dulwich club or any running club.

i think it means attached to an Engalnd Athletics affiliated club. Luckily I am so I'll pay ?6!

well it was a lovely eveing for it. I came in at under 26 which is great for me, although James Nesbitt beat me by a few minutes. Oh well.

I missed my target....came in at 26 mins. Mrs S said that Nesbit was only about 30secs ahead of me.

Did it in 24:09 according to my watch - I was slightly disappointed as I'd hoped for 23 mins. Anyway, it was good fun and me my fellow running mates ended up in the Crown and Greyhound for a well deserved drink and steak sandwiches!

Did it in 21.29...was amazed when i looked at my watch as I knocked off 1 minute 30 secs from last year :)

Start in park out to Court Lane, into village for a bit, finish off in park. Nearly got hit by a huge Merc that was pulling out of someone's drive - other than that it was good fun!
