I agree with you Mr M.

In the case for the defense, what has any manager since Hoodle achieved in making England look competitive at the business end of international football (the tournaments)?

With hindsight, I think that 5-1 win over Germany wasn't great for English football as it made Sven untouchable for way too long.

1998 since we've looked like we could win anything.......

Careful what you wish for :)

Actually I agree. One thing BFS is good at is getting the core of a team together. He doesn't pick on reputation, more on the ability to follow his wishes. We will be muscular, intimidating. The football will be terrible to watch but we'll win more than we lose and maybe we can put the pressure on other sides rather than vice versa.

Kevin Nolan could well be the oldest player since Sir Stanley Matthews.

Are we going to have to call you $$$$'s from now on then?

His win/loss perecentage as a manager would suggest we'll lose marginally more than we'll win.

36,3 % Wins

26,9 % Draw

36,8 % Losses

We don't want to be like an Allardyce premier league side. We want to make good use of the young talent we have at our disposal. We don't want to nullify the opposition to win games, we want to outplay them.

We want a manager that players will look up to, a manager used to looking after superstars, a manager that has played and coached at the highest level.

We want a manager with fresh ideas and a plan for a long term future; a Joachim Low or a Didier Deschamps or a Chris Coleman or a Jurgen Klinsmann.

The idea that we have to have an English manager is laughable; ask the England rugby team.

I am no BFS fan, as I may have mentioned once or twice on here. But on this point I sort of disagree. Superstars are Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez, Ibrahimovic, Beckham (in his day).

Most of these players need someone that will stop pandering to them and explain that despite the ludicrous pay they get from their clubs, they are laughing stocks on the international stage, and need to have a bloody word with themselves. Bit of tough love, which is one thing he might be good for.

No you can't. There were security people there on Tuesday for the friendly v Charlton. They were checking bags for booze. I think the club doesn't want to upset the council, given that they're looking to get a licence for an outside bar to relieve congestion in the main bar.

In addition to tomorrow afternoon's friendly against Millwall, there's one against Crystal Palace on Tuesday evening. The other pre-seasons are away.

Still- good beers in the bar I guess. Is it a tenner in for the Millwall friendly?

I know Suarez was a massive factor, but when Liverpool went close a couple of years back that was without European distraction certainly in the second half of the season (can't remember if they started the season in a competition or not).

In all honesty I've no idea what the teams will all look like this year. Although thanks to a pal I am going to Wembley for the first time since it was done up to see the LFC Barcelona friendly, then to Anfield to see LFC Hull, so looking forward to that.

    • bizarre responses from everyone but Cancerian 🤷🏾‍♀️ As an LL resident surely a perfectly normal enquiry in that one might wish to know who to look out for if lawless/feral kids are wreaking havoc? any distinguishing marks on the perpetrators? presumably the objection is that a physical description might reveal the alleged culprits as non-white? (nothing else makes sense with this bourgeois over-sensitivity). same botched thinking that causes police descriptions of suspects on the loose to omit this info  (top way to protect the public / solve the crime) FYI i'm a mixed-race female and interested in THE TRUTH. hence, i want to protect myself & my family against criminals. so please DESCRIBE the physical appearance of criminals or suspected criminals to help to keep us safe. thankyou.  "underlying agenda... strange" 😂😂😂 strange agenda to wish to be safe in my community. well played 🤯   working the nightshift here & getting mildly obsessed/infuriated with the peculiar responses. someone please explain how wishing to be able to attempt to identify, physically, the perpetrator(s) of an alleged local assault is "strange", with an "agenda"? God help us. (wait... "God"? must be a far-right religious maniac) "Unless there were distinctive features such as unusual clothing, how is that going to identify them"... green & purple mohican with accompanying buffalo 🦬 horns through the nose might do it; or simply hairstyle, skin colour, sartorial outfit... 🤔 "and even if it did, what would be the point, without photographic evidence that they had done anything wrong?" eyewitness reports? 😏
    • Unless they were wearing school uniform with name tags otherwise children do change their clothes you know.
    • I'd also recommend Silvano for anyone in the area looking to learn automatic, having just passed first time with 5 minors. He's a very patient teacher and ensured I learned how to drive safely above all.
    • You don't need to do the research. I had to know the numbers as a TV buyer. I analysed the potential advertising revenue and Channel Four didn't cover their costs. They had some nice 'Channel Four' signs when someone hit the ropes but, In all honesty, a lot a potential revenue was lost because most old knackers were pissed off because they couldn't perve at Carol Vorderman on 'Countdown'.       Sorry, cross-post. I was replying to Malumbu. Give me a minute, if you will. I listened to the first two sessions (today) on TMS and popped down to the pub for the evening one.   I do miss the days of Peter West, Richie Benaud and Tom Graveney on BBC2.   But, the BBC are at least putting on 'Today At The Test' on at around 7pm instead of after midnight.   And it was on the 10pm news.
