I don't think many reds fans would have begrudged him making a few appearances to get a winners medal.

But they are a long way off winning it yet.

I actually thought he might join Rogers at Celtic, as they had a very good relationship, but I think he has his heart set on coaching and eventually managing Liverpool.

It was an exceptionally cruel twist of fate. And then his final game going horribly wrong against Palace. He must have felt pretty broken after that couple of weeks.

Great player, but from our perspective it couldn't have ended better...:)

Being a Swans fan I now know of real emotional swings in a game

Anger Depression Hope Fear Relief Joy - and everyone on my twitter feed the same.

Nope, not at all. 2016 has been a horrible year, full of political turmoil and unexpected deaths, even The hammers had a good 5 months. Well it's over, normality is back and West Ham have returned to being reassuringly shite, expect planetary realignment soon.

Exactly - shades of the 2006-07 season. After a pretty good 05-06 (ending in THAT final) form suffered; players who'd done well the year before went 'missing', manager seemed to lose control/confidence of the team, issues off the field were affecting players, players that were brought into the club weren't ready for the PL...

That we have to play at an athletics stadium dressed up as a football ground is a novel twist that only a bulldozer can solve.

For a dead rubber the MC v Celtic game tonight was a classy game.

Great appreciation of Celtics passing game from the BT Sport commentary team. Could almost have said they sounded surprised.

Robbie Savage, patronisingly said earlier in hre day that even he could manage Celtic to the SPL. But having seen this team in action, I'd suggest he's now aware that Brendan is building a team that's trying to achieve something in Europe longer term.

    • No they aren't. You're coming across as a smug, superior liberal, and that's what old fashioned voters (labour, Cons and now Reform) hate. That 'the deplorables' 'they're all ignorant racists' line is what's driving people away from the traditional parties and towards Reform.  You're as guilty of looking back as Labour. This is a new, post-europe world and we all need to come to terms with that, make do with what we have, and move forward.
    • I have sympathy with any voter, anyone, who having witnessed the last 14 years and then Labour in the last year and wonders just how can things be this bad  unless a) they voted for brexit b) voted Tory after 2010 c) is thinking of voting reform  because anyone who thinks reform won’t make things a thousand times worse after voting for the previous?  It is they who are the problem.  They are the reason the country is in the doldrums with an embarrassingly-timid Labour government  Specifically Chris mason - a not very bright right leaning stooge - large part of why bbc news has become grok-level slop
    • In what way? Maybe it just felt more intelligent and considered coming directly after Question Time, which was a barely watchable bun fight.
    • Yes, all this. Totally Sephiroth. The electorate wants to see transformation overnight. That's not possible. But what is possible is leading with the right comms strategy, which isn't cutting through. As I've said before, messaging matters more now than policy, that's the only way to bring the electorate with you. And I worry that that's how Reform's going to get into power.  And the media LOVES Reform.
