One way or another doesn't every club try to buy success? We've done good business before the imminent Bale sale without having to pay inflated prices. Ok so we've spent a lot of money but I think that has been long overdue. I'm sure there are some envious glances from other clubs especially that lot down the road who we're playing on Sunday.

AVB is being fully backed by the board and is building a team with the money he's been given. Spending money is one thing being successful is another. I'm enjoying the ride so far. Was at the Lane last night and last Sunday. So far so good. Played 4 Won 4 Drawn 0 Lost 0 GF 10 GA 0. It's a good start but the real test comes on Sunday at the Effeminates.

Excuse the typos in that last post, stupid phone!

I'm not having a go at Spurs Jah, just saying that the days of developing a young team and bringing a couple of top experienced players are gone. If a club really wants to challenge at the top, they basically need to buy the team to do it.

Spurs may still need goals from somewhere, 2 penalties in the opening 2 matches got the results, but you want someone banging them in.

Speaking of Bale, he's acting like a bit of a tool isn't he. I really dislike that bloke, good player or not. I hope he's a total flop!

Tilting at windmills from a Chavski supporter, how ironic. Still blindly refusing to acknowledge that your backer plundered his nations resources with the assistance of Putin and thinks thats ok. Very telling, says alot about you. Next you'll be telling me he helps old ladies across the road.

Why not? A club is a company like any other. You have to invest in that business in the hope that you can be successful. Same thing different shit innit.

2012-2013......We needed a striker. Spent big on a crosser of balls (Jarvis) to feed our one injury-prone front man.

Should have bought a striker.

Vaz te and Maiga not cutting it - need to sell both.

    • I may be a scrooge but to pay over £100 plus for a meal is a bit much. I understand that staff costs would be a high factor in this price and that being no transport on Christmas Day - pubs may have to pay car hire fees. The café in Christ Church will be doing a 3 course meal in the run up to Christmas for around £30 per head (Booking essential) so to charge an additional £60 plus seems somewhat unreasonable. The past few years, there have only been the 2 of us on Christmas Day, so we lash out and buy a lot of M & S food - ready prepared or with minimal cooking at a cost of between £30 and £40. We host the family Boxing Day onwards (8 - 10 people) spending around £60 on food and drink. Rather spend £100 for food etc over a couple of days rather than £200 for one meal. We are fortunate that we have the finances  to do this as many people are not able to do this. One family member with young children would find it hard to spend even £10 on a Christmas meal. Our kids come armed with plastic boxes to all family meals to take home any leftovers - so we are left with minimal waste- any veg and meat  get made into soup.
