Nice to think that Clattenburg might have tried to even things out, but Sturridge's dive also got a fellow pro sent off, something that couldn't be evened out without sending off a 'pool player, and I don't think we want to be going down that road.

But that shouldn't detract from 'pool's overall performance, they totally bossed the game and 0-3 was fully deserved.

I meant to post before the match to say that I think our next 3 home games in 8 days (Liverpool, Olympiakos and City) would be make or break for Moyes, especially with the match going fans*. Lose them and it's curtains. The key being not so much the end results but the performances. Yesterday was yet another abject one, devoid of any tactical nous, creativity and energy. I didn't have a strong opinion either way about Moyes' appointment. I was happy for him to be given time to see if he could turn things round, afterall it's ultimately down to the players that cross the white line. But 8 months on, we've regressed rather then progressed. He still doesn't appear to know what his best team is, how to tatically set them up, and more importantly how to change tactics during a game if they're not working. As a fan he doesn't inspire me that he can change things round. He certainly seems incapable of inspiring the players to perform for him. A squad let's not forget that won the league by 11 points. Currently there's a 46 point turnaround with 'pool. That's not normal. 1 down, 2 to go...

*The Utd fans were brilliant yeterday, but that was more out of defiance in front of the 'pool fans, a 'let's rain on their parade' mentality rather than unswerving support for Moyes...

Good post RD. I doubt ANY manager stepping into SAF shoes would get out of players like he did. Moyes doesn't seem to have the confidence or heat that SAF did, however the stories about SAF is that he was a bully and a tyrant-why not ?? They are being paid monopoly money and should, therefore, put the work in.

Can't see Rooney being on ?300k being helpful in the great scheme of things and RvP really does look disinterested, United loss-Arsenals gain ?? I can seriously see that happening.

Should Vidic be stripped of captaincy ? Doesn't seem to me to be great that your on pitch leader is "doing one" in 3 months time.

(Can I put a humourous Meme/cartoon or a piss take in now ? ;) )

On this point, when Rogers first came to pool my cobcern was that he was too stubborn and had no plan B (selling Carroll seemed silly at the time). But now he has got them playing the way he wants and things are good. The difference I suppose is that we all knew from the outset what Rogers' football philosophy was. With Moyes we don't really know what he wants as an end result, and I'm not totally convinced he does either.

Go for it BR, I'm numb to the pain ;-)

I think there's been a perfect storm of events, and all not down to Moyes. And you're right, any manager would've struggled.

I hope I'm proved wrong, but after another inept performance I'm beginning to lose faith in his ability to turn things around. I'm not even sure he should be trusted with a big summer transfer kitty and spend it wisely...Fellaini anyone?!

There's a school of thought that RVP and Rooney can't play upfront together. Fergie certainly thought so. If whoever's in charge thinks that too and decides to sell one of them, so be it.

The Vidic situation isn't ideal, but I'm not too bothered about the captaincy at the moment. It can be addressed as part of the summer rebuilding...

True dat. He obviously did very well at Everton considering what he inherited and the constant budget constraints he had to work with. But it's increasingly looking like he's out of his depth at Utd...

I know, I was thinking more about the money it cost to buy him, esp when he could've been bought for ?4m less before his buy out clause expired. It had panic buy written all over it...

I take it all back, Moyes has progressed...

This time last season, David Moyes' Everton had 48 points from 29 games, having scored 46 goals & conceded 35.

This season, David Moyes' Manchester United side have 48pts from 29 games, having scored 46 goals and conceded 34.

Miscellaneous musings...

Fellaini's 5 minute cameo last night was the best I've seen him play in a red shirt, he even found his ideal position on the pitch...the corner flag.

According to a West Ham season ticket supporting friend, tickets for the MU game are going for ?150...why?

Congratulations to Arsene Wenger on becoming a member of the 1000 club. Interesting stat, all his trophies were won within the first 500 games.

Good luck to Spurs tonight, but I think it could get messy for them in Lisbon....

Interesting or just an opportunity to have a dig?

Come on PD, don't be so touchy. It is a fact, and it is interesting when you look at the sport as it is today.

You could argue that it is absolutely incredible that Wenger has been allowed to stay so long without winning anything (and kudos to Arsenal for not sacking him like many (most?) clubs would have). Obviously we'll never know the answer to this, but I wonder whether even SAF would have been safe at United had he not delivered a trophy in a 500 match period.

    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
    • What outcome would you like? Disciplinary action? Not to have the driver back? Retraining? I know there is alot of pressure on drivers to deliver within a set day. if he slams the gate, is it evidence he is causing damage, or is the noise a irritant to yourself? You could put a sign up or buy a signing asking to close the gate gentle???? can you hear the door bell from the door? he might be ringing, not hearing and therefore knocking. In trhe notes section of the be livery page, there is a note section, although there is not 100 per cent these notes would be read as these drivers are constantly rushing.  I did a google search for you, i found this and you can try the envri website Contact Us | Evri   To complain to Evri, you can follow these steps: Contact Customer Service: Call Evri's customer service at 0330 808 5456 for assistance with your complaint.    1 Write a Letter: Address your complaint to Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.    1 Use the Official Website: Visit the Evri complaints page on their official website for detailed instructions on how to submit a complaint.    2 Email or Call for Specific Issues: For issues like missing or damaged parcels, you can email or call 0800 988 8888, which is free to call.    1 These methods will help you effectively communicate your concerns to Evri.   My driver is called anthony, he is brilliant to be honest. I cant fault him.
    • When I have more time and energy, I will look up the actual number of votes cast for each party in that election, rather than the number of seats won. I'm interested to see that you apparently  think that  Boris Johnson did a good job of "leading the country through Covid." Is your memory really that short? I won't stoop to calling Johnson and his cronies names in the way that you seem to think is appropriate for left wing politicians. At least the left wing politicians have some semblance of morals and a concern for people who aren't in some over privileged inner circle and/or raking in money for themselves on the back of an epidemic. I'm not going to open a can of worms on here  by commenting on the disgraceful so called "purge".
