Jose won't be too put out, he will be happy that he's still unbeaten and top of the league. How Costa got away with his nonsense with Zabaleta is beyond me. For long periods of the game City players were containing him and not letting him get the upper hand in the physical side of the game.

City were very unlucky not to win this game, they were by far the better side and the Chavs had cleary set out to park the bus. Costa hasn't got the same physical presence Drogba has and it showed today, Kompany was bouncing him all over the place. The sending off was very suspect, it was almost as if Costa was instructed to pick a fight with Zabaleta to get him red carded.

Shame on you PD. It a feckin game and though United lost today they scored some beautiful goals which is why I like football......and United. Now how the f*** they conceded 5 is another thing. So speak I who waited twenty something years for United to win the league. Now we've won it a few times I'm just happy to see some attractive football. We can't and won't win it every year. I don't care. I do hope you have to wait a good few more years though as you deserve to wait.

West Ham were well worth their win yesterday. Liverpool were largely poor, but West Ham were good.

Liverpool started games so quickly last year, but it just ain't happening.

What Quids said. Nolan's absence has seen Noble take more control in midfield and Downing is more involved without a target man to service; and Teddy has got the new signings on the front foot. Cresswell looks a decent buy too; but then things looked equally rosy after a certain win against Spurs last season and it was noticeable yesterday that BFS played his preferred block and punt for the last 15 minutes or so.

The other similarity is that, just like after that Spurs game, BFS claimed tactical genius. When they win he's a genius, when they don't it aint his fault.

Spurs have missed a trick not getting Teddy on the coaching staff at White Hart Lane and is without a doubt West Ham's gain. I loved him as a player. Probably my favourite over the past 20 years.

After the dirge served up last season it's good to see a Utd team playing with attacking flair again.

Defensively we're boggin', and that will take time and probably another transfer window or two to put right.

LVG and most of the new players will also need time to adapt to the 'nuances' of the PL, I bet none of them have ever been involved in a game like that before.

He's definitely losing his urbane charm and getting more chippy, but to be fair he's under a lot of pressure, had they not won the PL I think he might even have been sacked, and this season it sounds like the owners are expecting much greater things in the CL...

Special or not, takes some doing to be 3-1 up and collapse to a 5 - 3 defeat especially when you've got Angel fooking Di Maria in your team, not to mention Falcao.
