False police crystal palace road

Hi,had single person dressed as policeman today call and said would call back later at the front door,contacted Met police and advised no police due to call at my address but warned that this is happening in our area - apparently scoping people's houses and when door answered make excuses and leave.Please be warned and always ask for name,badge number and police station they are attached to.Has this happened to anyone else?

It might be worth asking them to add it to their neighbourhood watch FB page as there are a number of people signed up to this that are all the NHW coordinators.
