Do you mean what's left of the hospital building? If so, yes it will be part of the school. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/359443-construction-by-tessa-jowell/#findComment-1702092 Share on other sites

ctovey
Looking good. My office used to be in the left hand block, in what once was Matron's quarters! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/359443-construction-by-tessa-jowell/#findComment-1702306 Share on other sites

first mate
Agree. So glad they retained all of this, it adds to the area. Does anyone know what Charter will use this section for? gebbjane
I think it’s due to hold the school reception/office, drama & music classrooms, a new library and SEN and autism unit. It is good they kept the old Chateau building, especially as this isn’t a listed building, so would have been much quicker to bulldoze the lot. My kids tell me the Library is due to move in soon so I imagine the whole thing will be functioning by September. James Barber
Keeping the central Chateau building was always part of the idea when we launched the campaign for a new secondary school in 2013. Adds quick gravitas to the school. We also hope the children would access via those main doors to help make their school feel extra special. 2 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/359443-construction-by-tessa-jowell/#findComment-1702558 Share on other sites

I agree, but if this was to be the main entrance/exit the road outside would need to be much safer, with new crossings and widened pavements etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/359443-construction-by-tessa-jowell/#findComment-1702564 Share on other sites
