Laddy Muck
Hello WOD.I am not an expert though I have been looking after a Victoria plum tree for about 15 years. I prune immediately following harvesting. The experts say you should also "arbrex" where pruned; I did this for the first 3 or four years but stopped doing so once I ran out of the stuff (couldn't be bothered). No problems so far (apart from plum tree moth and fecking squirrels). Annette Curtain
Prune and replace or add a grease band, it's the most common missed out disease preventer. But if think you've got true Silver Leaf then there's some further reading here http://www.which.co.uk/documents/pdf/silver-leaf-disease-153706.pdf Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/36048-is-it-too-late-to-prune-my-victoria-plum-tree/#findComment-676253 Share on other sites
KidKruger
I had to dig-up 8-10 Damsen and other plum trees because silver leaf got them, apparently once it's there you can't plant plums again due to latent remainder of disease in the soil.I hope you can prevent it.
