Peckham Farmers Market - what do you buy

I go for the rosemary and olive oil bread most weeks, pain au choc when my kids are along, and yesterday an unbelievably good sirloin steak. The veg stall have usually got herbs for what 1/4 the supermarket price.

ps i buy nothing there. How much is 1 x Pain Au Choc? / is it worth the walk down to Peckhammm??

The almond croissants are worth the pilgrimage. Even at ?2 each (I think). Amazing.

Otherwise it's a shame it's sooo limited in scope.

The classic pork sausages are delicious and lower salt content than many, but they are twice the price of the supermarket.

I also bought some rabbit pieces which were a better flavour than chicken but I have never seen them since.

The stuff I bought one week came to 11.50 so I offered him a tenner and he refused so I left them, a couple of weeks later the same procedure it came to 11.20 offered him a tenner he took it and we both smiled.

lol I don't work there - haven't got the patience for such a long slow entryism tactic! I agree that it's limited but on the other hand less poncy than the Slow Food Market, which I visited last time it was at the South Bank

maybe its just cos its cold, raining and morning but id pay ?1.50 for Pain Au Choc right now!!!!
