SebsC
Sorry but cycling isn't allowed in the woods. I'm sure if you ask on here for some other routes though people will recommend other places to go. DulwichFox
It is very hard going in parts of the Wood. With muddy parts and fallen trees. Fallen leaves also create a hazard and also make the paths difficult to make out.. Would not be suitable for general cycling. and as SebsC has pointed out .. isn't allowed Take a walk through the woods and enjoy. jonsuissy
I go out to the Kent countryside for a cycle on a sunday morning, Bexley or West Wickham areas have some lovely countryside. Not much in the way of water though. Both Bexley and WWickhanm are about 9 miles out and you can get the train there easily or just cycle, its easy and quiet on a sunday morning. If you fancy a ride (very leisurely pace) this sunday (or any other) drop me a pmJon Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37285-is-it-possible-to-cycle-in-dulwich-woods/#findComment-686362 Share on other sites
Townleygreen
Waterlink Way is a pleasant cycle route nearby, runs from Thames mostly through open space and also mainly alongside some rivers (Ravensbourne and Pool) through to Cator park in Beckenham and beyond. Could continue along National Cycle Route 21 to Eastbourne if wanted!!Or more realistically, National Route 4 runs west along the Thames towards central London while National Route 1 also passes through Greenwich and heads east towards Dartford, along river. So you could start from ED, north to river then head east of west along Thames.http://www.sustrans.org.uk/ncn/map/route/waterlink-way Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37285-is-it-possible-to-cycle-in-dulwich-woods/#findComment-686398 Share on other sites

Anyone has done that?is it possible/nice?I've already told you about that...it is Sustrans' National Cycle Route 1 which runs along the Thames from Greenwich - it goes well beyond Charlton. I haven't done it all, but the bits I've seen are certainly interesting.
