Local Ab Fab "celeb" and stand up calling ball ED businesses for crowdfunding

You have hooked me again. I know all about crowd funding, I know it's not rocket science which I actually know a bit about too. It was Helens opening post where she says she didn't think she could get her head around it. As for us knocking it on the head, the original post said it would only be open for five days which had already lapsed by the time I posted, so don't be silly please.
Yes. Thanks to you, and others. Massive fail. But the sad thing is, none of you were meant to help. None of you have two pennies to help. Or ever did. Helen was appealing to East Dulwich businesses, not to you, but you all came on carping about it, and hijacked the thread. Well done. Pathetic.
The five days were up before I posted as you well know. You failed perfectly well all by yourself. Take some responsibility. Tell Helen that you messed it up with a confusing post and came across as condescending so didn't get any interest until you became abusive.

Donald Rumsfeld lives!...

I?m slightly surprised James Barber hasn?t been blamed for all of this

Buddug ? please take a deep breath and calm down

I expect it?s not only Helen who is attached to this project but you are commited in some way as well so it?s easy to be defensive

But it should be noted that the forum and users you are so quick to berate have been instrumental in raising money for a number of projects. If we take the Ivy House as an example, a LOT of money was raised directly from local people including many many forum users. There is a theory that this money was in some way possible because the Ivy House chose to not hector potential investors with lines such as ? None of you have two pennies to help. Or ever did. ? ? but I don?t think we can ever be 100% sure of that

Coincidentally, the original Ivy House proposal was also met with some confusion and no little skepticism ? but they responded patiently and openly

Wow, what a bizarre thread. I'm afraid the defensive posts of Helen has meant that the focus has gone away her original request for help and onto other people and their comments. 22 posts by one person have certainly helped dilute that original message. And to think it all started from someone helping to explain what crowdfunding is, followed by a joke.

If it's not too late, people will help with the funding, if you amend the first post to explain what crowdfunding is and then I can get the Admin team to remove the following irrelevant posts. Everyone's a winner.

If its going "live" again, It would be helpful to explain this: ( or is it just me!):

"Use this area to offer a short teaser of your email's content. Text here will show in the preview area of some email clients. Email not displaying correctly?

View it in your browser.

Helloo! It's me!"

The original message was copied and pasted hence it didn't make sense .

It would be better to have the original post amended and explained properly as I thought it was just very confusing !

Jeopardy - rnd 1:

Q1.

Just whatever you do - don't be a dick about it.

A1.

"How do I casually throw my funding page link out there without looking like I'm casually throwing my funding page link out there ?"

Correct for $100.

    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.

    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
