I went to this yesterday and wasn't overly excited by it. A well dressed Santa in a Gingerbread House but no grotto to walk through to reach him. He had a bit of chat about him but not too much. Spoke to my younger child but not at all to the older one. Gift was reasonable but all in all an over-priced too short experience. 4yr old happy and I just felt 'oh well at least we didn't have to queue for hours for that'. Much more decoration needed in the conservatory and Santa needed to be more chatty to all of us.

Yes I agree - it was painless as in no queues and the conservatory was magical all lit up (we went at dusk) BUT the experiences was very, very simple.

Wasn't sure why the doors weren't kept shut to the grotto so Father Christmas was 'revealed' rather than just sat there in full view.

I felt a little bit more thought to making the event magical wouldn't have gone amiss or even cost much ... A screen up in front of the grotto or at least keeping the door shut! Good value overall as just ?8 per child and a nice unisex gift, good for quite a wide age range.

    • Are these people connected to Reform? I googled what you googled, and I couldn't see anything about that?
    • Are the collectors on M&S property?  Iirc it's previously been their practice to be on a shop's premises, even with permission, so as to avoid any action against them for street collecting.  If so now, I think it would be for the shop to tell them to leave and enforce their doing so.  I think in theory the police can be asked to come along and stand by in case of any resulting violence or breach of the peace from the collectors.
    • I googled “We R Blighty investigation” and well.  Wow  also reform are massively ahead in the polls People need to start calling out people for what they are and stop pretending reform, the flag hangers and related charities are somehow a normal political party/movement   dark forces are rising
