Otta
So rather than screwing businesses, why don't they put some police presence on the streets at night. Jeremy
Maybe I'm just making this up, but aren't the fees for a late license supposed to go towards policing, street cleaning, etc? If so, Otta's suggestion makes sense. It will affect four currently licensed venues and proposes midnight as the terminal serving hour for alcohol seven days a week. El Pibe
Admittedly, the only time I went to the Artesian Well I got so drunk I decided to walk home and slept in someone's doorway for a few hours, whilst my mate fell asleep in the bogs and woke locked in the pub in the wee hours and had to wait til staff turned up to get out. It certainly gives you a chance to reassess your priorities. giggirl
It would be hard for London to be taken seriously as an international city if we submit to this nanny law. It should be about personal responsibility. uncleglen
I am surprised anyone can afford to drink so much that they are incapable. We could go back to the days when the pub shuts at 11 and then you go back to someone's house to carry on drinking.
