Recommendation for new Front Door?

Beulah

Recommended Posts

Am after a recommendation for a new front door.

Ideally somewhere between the bespoke doors offered by companies such as the London Door Company (v nice but at 2k+ was out of our price range) and the Yale catalogue type (who because of data protection can't tell us the address of any door they've installed for us to look at!)

Ideally we'd like to see a photograph of your door (or address of where we could view it), details of where you got it and if possible who fitted it.

Any help gratefully received.

I am also in the process of sourcing a new front door supplier and installer. I have come across Select a door on Penge high street and am considering using them as they are much cheaper than the two other companies from which I've had quotes so far and seem very professional. Has anybody used them before, any feedback? Many thanks.

Hello, did you find any solutions? Our front door is warping badly in the cold weather and it's now difficult to shut the bottom lock. We originally bought it from a company on the high street in Penge about 12 years ago. But it's been warping every winter for years, slowly getting worse. Any intel would be greatly appreciated. Tks.

Hi

I have just used Distinguish Doors in Forest Hill

http://www.distinguishdoors.co/

They have had mixed reviews in the past but a friend of mine used them and were pleased so we went ahead and used them too.

I can honestly say they were brilliant. Three guys came along and removed the two old doors and put in the new one. Very tidy and friendly, they even did some work on two of my internal doors for me.

We are very pleased with the new door and I would have no hesitation in recommending them. I was also given good advice when I was in the shop choosing the door and the door furniture.

Happy for any one to look at the door if they want.

New door completed yesterday.

We went with Ryan at RJS Carpentry and are very happy with the result.

It's exactly the kind of door we had in mind and it was done for a reasonable price.

We're happy to recommend Ryan - if you'd like more specific information pls send us a personal message.

(For those interested the colour is Dulux weathershield in Farrow and Ball's Elephant's Breath mixed at Shaun's DIY by East Dulwich station)

Where was the abject outrage when Dynamic Vines opened up literally next door to Cave de Bruno? But I don't see his customers decamped next door - no, those stalwarts are still out in force every night.  In Roman times all businesses were clustered by product. It's what kept prices down. Same in any market you go to abroad, they're all selling the same things next to each other.  Why is everyone being so hard on this new place? It's called healthy competition - you can't curtail the expansion of your business on the basis you that might hurt someone else's.
    • I have a new fixation so any available, please let me know.  Thanks.
