Strange behaviour by milk snake - any expert here?

Snakey, who is at least 10 has suddenly taken to biting himself and eating more often than usual. Yesterday, he was so active when taken out of his house by my son, he had to be put straight back in. I've searched for info on this but found nothing conclusive. Any experts here?

It's snakile dementia possibly. It not unknown for them to eat their own tails.

Wow thank heavens our grandparents don't do that - messy and inconvenient picking-up limbs and chunks and all.

It's like a solo snake zombie-fest.
