Dude I was hungover and stomping to the train station as of about 7.15 - shocker! After promising myself a night in tonight it looks like Im out again so it will be a repeat performance tomorrow but at a much more respectable hour! >:D< After 5 nights on the trot I think I am going to have liver poisoning just in time for the PC on sat!

Strawbs,

Ever considered cycling? ED to Can Wharf about 40 mins (maybe less if you're really fit), mostly flat. You always have a seat, get lots of fresh air, its cheaper than a gymn, improves cardio fitness, tones up thighs and calves and is way cheaper and more pleasant than public transport. I'm up to 3 x week instead of bus / train - in this weather it's far better than being slowly broiled in the sardine like company of too many others.

Lots of advice on best routes on the forum. One of a number of threads below.

    • You might be right. I have a memory of street performers on a warm sunny day in Lordship Lane, but maybe it was the Xmas Cracker and it was just one of those stunning Decmber days where the sun is very bright in blue skies and 15*C feels warm for Winter
    • Saturday's  was a total non event, sadly. I don't recall Summer events in North Cross Road similar to the Christmas Cracker. I imagine Christmas draws more people to the shops there than Summer.
    • Sounds good. We used to have the ED Christmas Cracker which was similar and a great community event. Was there once a similar event in summer too?   I walked all the way through the market on Saturday and had no idea there had been an event there until I saw this thread four days later.
