Conservatory - how much and recommendations please!

Has anyone had a good experience with having a conservatory/sun room built and can recommend a firm?

Also, how much are we looking at price wise? Is that a question of how long is a piece of string? How much did yours cost? What did you have done?

Thank you!

Hi!

I am looking at the same and have been trawling the pre-loved website for a second hand conservatory to re-erect. Prices vary from ?1,500 - ?3,000 but of course these are dismantled in sections and need to be re-installed (no idea the cost of this).

I think it's a bit like cinderella - what are the chances of finding one that fits?

Here is an idea though http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/108414081/stunning-conservatory.html

I recently got a quote from the firm that did my windows. It could be used every day of the year and includes all the modern features including under floor heating. It came to ?15k. An old second hand one might be a bargain but would likely too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer.
we have just had a 3metre by 3 meter conservatory fitted in the summer beautifully done we use it most evenings it was done by kevin at winseal windows ?12k includes all mod cons you can call him on 0203 654 3614 I would def recommend there company
Hi, this is v good information thank you. How much were you able to use it in the summer and how much are you using in the winter? How are you finding it in the colder weather - this would be very important for us as we're thinking of taking the back door out to make it more of an extension. Thanks for your reply

    • My bike (a ELOPS 120 step over classic from Decathlon) was stolen from outside The Belham this afternoon. I locked it up while I collected my kids, then the street was so busy that I left it there while I walked them home. Did a few other things at home, came back about 5.30pm and it was gone. Sharing just in case anyone sees it or finds it anywhere - it’s a few years old and the chain is a bit rusty/makes a clicking sound so maybe there’s a slight chance someone would dump it! Really annoying and just a reminder to be really careful with bikes. The picture shows the bike model from the Decathlon website.
    • Thanks, I didn't know that.  People are even more stupid than I thought then, if they are willing to wait hours in A&E for an ingrown toenail. I presume they don't get put at the front of the queue. Why isn't the 111 service more widely advertised? That puts you in touch with a doctor, who will advise on the phone or visit, and if necessary  you will be advised to go to A&E or they will arrange an ambulance to take you.
    • It hasn't devolved. It's in exactly the same state it was when it started.
    • A&E isn't allowed to turn people away at the triage stage, even people with hiccups and ingrown toenails... the kinds of ailments a GP might be able to advise against seeking emergency care for. https://www.england.nhs.uk/2025/12/aes-under-siege-from-hiccups-and-ingrowing-toenails/
