It's not such a great argument IMO. We all rule things out that we consider impossible or ridiculous.. to one degree or another. Are you open to the idea of it raining custard tomorrow, across the whole of South London? Or turning into a wombat on the stroke of midnight?

Just because some (or a lot) of people believe in something doesn't make it less stupid.

Thanks for sparing me. If you have a result, put it out in the open in a way that it can be reviewed and reproduced.

Because there's a name for doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. It's called stupid.

Religion is hardly harmless. Besides the child abuse of indoctrinating children with beliefs that can't be substantiated, not to mention the boys who have their genitals mutilated, here is just a couple of examples:

What on earth does genital mutilation and religious endoctrination have to do with folklore surrounding ghosts and hauntings in the local area? What a pathetic way of taking a thread off topic. If you wish to discuss 'witchcraft' or religion or any form of mutilation, how about making a specific thread about those topics rather than doing it on this thread and scaring people off from commenting about the actual topic.

Louisa.

I once had this conversation with a 'dead' person (ghost) in the middle of a custard storm. It ended abruptly when he turned into a wombat, as I don't speak wombat. On the other hand I've spoken to idiots who claim to be able to talk to people on the other side of the world with a machine and even fly there if they want to. Huh.

Witchcraft and exorcism are paranormal activities. You can't just pick and choose the nice bits to suit you.

Ok so if we are talking about anything paranormal and of the fairytale variety, do you suggest we have no belief systems at all? There is no solid foundation for any religious or belief system in the world today, and yet billions of people still practise these faiths. Bad things happen in the name of organised religion, including abuse, forced marriages, mutilation, terrorism. There are ways of interpreting anything to suit your own ends. The things I am talking about on here are in no way connected.

They're very well connected. Gods are nothing but super powerful ghosts help good children pass exams if they stroke their ego with prayer and let kids die of hunger in third world countries just because of mysterious ways. And just as you have mediums trying to talk to the dead you get priests, imams, prophets, ...

Very short notice probably for people living in the area and on a very hot day!  James McAsh just doesn’t know what to do next with Southwark Council Tax payers money. He advocates the few streets in the area that has a bus service and then shuts the routes down! Very annoying for people who want to go about their daily business and have already had restrictions brought in by McAsh.
    • Thank goodness for Greg. I had an awful situation whereby I was notified that water was leaking from my flat into the flat below me. I was 150 miles away at the time and had a panicked journey home not knowing what I was going to face.   I called Greg (after seeing reviews on the forum) as soon as I arrived home in the evening and he arrived just after 10pm and was able to shut off the problem. He had to come back to finalise the job which turned out to be caused in a communal area whereby there was a blockage in the stack pipe.   Greg worked quickly, efficiently and informed me every step of the way as to what he was doing and why. He also cleaned up really well afterwards.  Greg's charges are very reasonable and he will definitely be my "go-to" if I have any other plumbing issues in the future.
