Recommended dressmaker/seamstress/tailor

I believe she's popped up before on here, but I really wanted to recommend a local dressmaker called Annie ([email protected]). She altered a bridesmaid dress for me down 2 or 3 sizes and did an excellent job in record time. It was a real panic to find someone trustworthy as the previous dressmaker had already ruined one dress but she altered the spare one perfectly. I'm really pleased with the results and that she took into consideration how urgent it was without a fuss. It looks exactly as it did before, but now it actually fits! Very happy with her services, and I know she has a broad repertoire of skills and does other alterations such as upholstery, tailoring etc.
Thank you for taking the time to reccomend me Sara,it was so nice to meet you and I'm glad I was able to help, the dress looked stunning on you ! I hope you enjoyed the wedding and I look forward to working for you again in the future, best wishes , Annie

On SaraDeb's recommendation (thank you), I contacted Annie because I needed to alter my new dress for my brother's wedding. Annie did amazing job!!!

She was very honest and gave me a very good advice as I was not sure if I'll go ahead with the alteration or not. I am glad I listed to her. I am very happy with the dress and it sits perfectly now.

I am definitely recommending Annie if you need any help/alteration with your beautiful frock!

    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.
