Local Bicycle Shop?

Hi All!

I have decided that I would like to buy a road bicycle and I wondered whether there are any good shops locally where I could go for a fitting and test ride?

If anyone has any advice about buying a road bike - brands / dos and don'ts etc I would be very grateful.

I can't recommend specifically for fitting/test ride but recommend both Balfe's (East Dulwich Rd) and Paul's Cycles (Bellended Rd) for friendly, efficient service.

I've used De Ver cycles for my last two bikes - down from Streatham Station.

They are happy to negotiate on prices and been very happy with the deals. They will allow you to go for a ride, and offer a fitting service (although you need to make an appt and pay for this).

Do the local shops stock makes such as Trek / Giant / Specialised?

Another recommendation for Balfe's. Friendly chaps who know their stuff without overselling. I know they sell Trek bikes and having been in there yesterday some of them are currently on sale.

Also used De Ver...admittedly just to buy inner tubes, so technically can't vouch but they were v friendly and helpful :)
