Strawbs
Hi,I am wanting to get my son's bedroom repainted but am mindful of fumes etc with him being only little and me being heavily pregnant. Is it realistic to have a painter paint the room in the morning with the windows / doors being open til say 8pm that night (bedtime) and it be ok for my son to sleep in that room that night? It is just a lick of paint not a big job so I would imagine he could do it in a morning. He wont sleep anywhere except his cot which I would have to dismantle to remove from the bedroom so am trying to avoid that. Also do I go for something like a water based paint? i.e. no toxic fumes etc.Any advice would be great.thanksJules x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/40669-best-type-of-paint-use-in-painting-a-toddlers-bedroom/ Share on other sites
bli
Would recommend Colour Makes People Happy (I think it's called) in the row of shops opposite ED station, which sells a range of paints that are non-toxic. I used it to paint our stairs when my youngest was a few months old (what was I thinking?!) and it was definitely not smelly or caused any fumes etc. Although not in a bedroom, I had been worried about the fumes wafting through the whole house so it was perfect. Lovely colour range too, and helpful guy who runs it. Mrs TP
And try and get one that you can wipe clean with a wet cloth. etta166
Most paints are now low VOC anyway, so you should be fine with whatever you want. Dulux do a great range of very washable paints. You can even get felt tip cleaned off the walls without taking the paint off too.
