Hi - I'm investigating options for my son's birthday party. He will be 6. We've done the church hall/entertainer thing which he has loved for the past few years but trying to find something for a smaller number of kids and a bit of an easier option for me. I noticed Pizza Express does make you own pizza parties with games etc and just wondered if anyone has been to one and if they're any good? We'd probably go to the Dulwich branch.

Thanks for any feedback.

I second that Herne Hill one is far more spacious we hired out the basement room for my sons 3rd bday, it was great as we didn't feel that we were disturbing the other diners with all the racket the kids were making lol :)
Regarding your question about the menu, kids can choose their meal from the regular bambino menu. My son attended a party there just before christmas and the party was held in the downstairs room at the Hearne Hill branch, great space.

Had my daughter's 5th birthday party at dulwich pizza express. It was on a Saturday (was told they don't do parties on Sundays) from 3:30pm and lasted about 1.5 hrs. We had the entire top floor which was spacious enough for 10 kids plus parents. Started off by dough balls and squash drinks. Kids enjoyed drawing on the activity sheets. Then made pizza. While that was cooking, played a few games. Some were done by the host and we were able to do some ourselves. Pin the tail, pass the parcel etc. Then ate pizza, a few more games, was served ice cream, cake cutting and opened up presents.

Everyone had a great time, they didn't mind that we brought in a few snacks like fruit, popcorn and crisps. Brought along a cd player and some decorations. Perfect as no need to buy plates, cups, cutlery...and no cleaning up afterwards. I thought it was worth the money (?12 per child) and the host was friendly and helpful.

My son had his 8th birthday party at the Dulwich Pizza Express last year. We did Sunday morning 10.30-12 (didn't finish till 12.30) - we all loved it.

Morning party worked well - the kids were nice and chilled (17 in all), had the room upstairs and the restaurant didn't open till 11 I think so not hectic downstairs.

They ate dough balls first and then made pizza. We played pass the parcel while pizzas were cooking and did the little worksheets. Had brought arts and craft stuff but no time. Had also brought cake from home.

It really was a lovely morning - so glad we chose it!

    • General view is it is tokenistic from Iran, not looking to harm life but show that they are retaliating. Same thing happened after the earlier Israeli attack back in the distant part. There will be debate, even at the top of the Iranian authorities.  Israel even without the US hold the cards.  Although are in this position due to decades of US support. As per my post on the other thread much of the reason the world is in this position is botched US post second world war middle East policy.  Supporting both sides in the Iran/Iraq war being particularly striking Trump mark 1 emboldened the right wing in Israel, perhaps pushed Hammas to more extreme action, and led to the Iranians going rogue on nukes.  I think that the latter was to put them in a stronger position in opening up grade, a country not able to sell vast quantities of oil ,(and gas?) But how does the world move on from this mess? By all means give other views to my simplistic ones
    • The NYT ( that right wing alarmist rag) has reported that Iran told Qatar so they could prepare. Iran and Q are on good terms so Q won’t retaliate, esp as Iran is only targeting US bases, which everyone knew to expect.     If anything, it draws Qatar into the dialogue and Q will privately be urging Iran to back down.
    • If the Qatari's decide to retaliate then it's all going off...but I suspect the Iranians are hoping for this - one inaccurate missile and the Qatari's may have to. I think the Iranian leadership is working on fast-tracking their own demise and the Americans and Israeli's planning for regime change, maybe with the many political prisoners the Israelis tried to free from the Elvin prison today. What a mess but clearly Iran was becoming a big threat to not only Israel but many of the other Gulf States and was clearly doing scary stuff with nuclear weapons that required action.
    • I can't find any references to an attack on a British base. where do you find one?
