OM property management

Hello, our block of flats has OM as the property managers. Does anyone else have the misfortune to deal with these clowns or know how to go about trying become joint freeholders of a block. Any advice will be gratefully appreciated. Thanks

My mother lives in an OM managed property. They don't seem any better or worse than any other management company. They do the bare minimum and charge as much as they can. Depending on the size of your block, you'll still need some sort of management company if you become joint freeholders and I'd be surprised if anyone would describe such companies as "wonderful". The advantage you'd have though would be to be able to sack them if they don't fulfil their obligations.

Hi beebee, where do you live? I am in Aura Court on Peckham Rye and we have set up a Residents' Association - currently trying to get enough leaseholders on board to go to RTM. PM if interested.

Agree with edcam. I used to live in a block in East London managed by OM. Not as bad as they could have been but made mistakes and charge exorbitantly if you want anything extra from them.

As Peckhamrye has said get the residents together to form a right to manage company (RTM) and then you can run your own affairs and look for new agents. Look at www.lease-advice.org where they have info on RTM's. Good luck!
