that will explain the pcso,s in the dulwich tandoori then, they wernt actually exercising their right to buy food on their break, they were casing the joint for the immigration service.

unfort, without the Illegals working for shit wages & in bad conditions, the UK would stall

there is a tacit level of dont ask/ dont act involved in the this type of action - th curry emporiums of London could not survive without staff working in the black economy

Most illegals dont take the piss, dont claim bnefits, dont have a high pofile, dont get leathered and urinate in LL doorways on friday nights & contribute much more than they take, tabloid headlines of fraudsters aside - when was the last time you were assailed in the early hours by a group of shitfaced Bangadeshies ?

I find that , for example , NIgerians on the whole are straight, hard working family people, often quite religious and more than happy to make the best of the chance to make something of their lives, yet are stigmatised as cheats by many

Now that the Eblok EU states are showing gowth & higher wages, there is a dminshing pool of legal workers who want to shovel your shit and take the sneering derision of much of the UK population

high pofile raids appease the majority of Brits who on one hand use the labour of these workers, but on the other , demand action to halt migration

expct to see the raid on one of those excrebale police/camera/ action programmes that seem to dominate our TV viewing in the near future

how many Brits go to th US and work black or overstay their visasa in Australia / NZ ?

but thats OK though innit ?

People's attitudes to illegal migrants never fails to amaze me.

Over the last 500 years or so we illegally* raped and pillaged, enslaved and claimed it as empire building.

We handed the responsibility of this rape and pillage to the corporations who continue to do this on our behalf, and then when the populations of the countries who have been impoverished for our benefit want to climb out of the shit we've imposed on them and follow the trail of loot to the West to work for their families - we tell them that they are illegal and bang them up in disgusting detention centres that would be closed if they were housing UK criminals.

My partner's dad is British, but he's Jamaican. We had to go back to Jamaica to apply for him to get a visa to come back as my partner and dependent. I could travel to Jamaica without a visa - in fact courtesy of her maj's little red book, I can travel pretty much anywhere, but in order to visit France, America or anywhere else that takes our fancy, my partner has to apply for visas in all of those places cos he's Jamaican.

Why have I got the right to travel anywhere I please and he hasn't?

An accident of birth means I am a citizen of the conquerers and he is a citizen of the conquered, that's why.

* Our past behaviour would be defined as international crimes and genocide under current international law

No CWALD, that's not right. International travel restrictions are about contemporary economics, not about tired old proletariat claptrap. ;-). The rest of the world mainly thinks Brits are wallies.

I do however take your point about accidents of birth. Humans have this wierd tribal thing going on, where you're seen as a representative rather than an individual. Even so, it's hypocritical to reject one tribe (the 'nation state') in order to support another (the 'proletariat') on the basis that tribalism is pants.

I like reading what the last 3 posters have written - partly because they are all broadly correct (yet still disagree) - but also beacause I can't imagine 3 more different people than CWALD, Huguenot and snorky (although I haven't had the privilege of meeting snorks)

I have nothing but love in my heart for Chav, and Snorks is spot on.

Ontopication - why do we think this was an immigration raid? For the observers who feel this was heavy handed for immigration, maybe it wasn't?

Offtopication - how great was Chav's comment on colonial corporations? Because I'm having a dull Friday evening I looked up the Dutch East India Company. Do you know it was the first corporation to sell stock?

Yes, and think of all that fantastic porcelain from China that ended up in Europe because of the VOC. In fact, the porcelain was a by-product of the rather lopsided trade as it was to act as ballast for the tea that was being shipped.

Edited to add - Soooo off topic!

    • Nope, not "complaining or moaning", stating an opinion. Tax - yes we are taxed to the hilt, the threshold is £12570, Govts not increasing this means more and more people get dragged into paying tax. HMRC are a joke, even if you're below that figure they take tax that has to be claimed back as its wrongly deducted.  Inflation is supposedly dropping, the reality in the shops is the total opposite, week on week almost, prices increase, utilities increase etc. I don't want to live under a left wing govt, if you do, suggest you try living in Russia.
    • But only the first g in garage is a "hard" g? The second one is a "soft" g whether you pronounce it "j" or (not sure how to write it, but even softer, like a cross between "sh" and "j"?) So surely Malumbu's hard g in Farage would be like the first g in garage, not the second one? I can't believe I am wasting my time writing this irrelevant drivel 🤣
    • I'm currently on a little mission to recommend Jovaner, who I've recommended here before, and who has done lots of work for me over the years. The scope of works he can take on, and his skills, have expanded over the years. He now comfortably undertakes full house renovations, including bathroom and kitchen fit outs (he is currently doing my bathroom as we speak). He is a talented carpenter, tiler, plumber and decorator, and has the highest standards of any tradesperson I've every worked with (have a look at the kitchens and furniture that my company - West & Reid - makes for a frame of reference for my standards, if I say so myself! 🙂 Jovaner always meets and goes beyond my expectations. There aren't many people as multi-talented as him, and very few with such high standards. He is the first person I turn to when I need work done in my house - I've waited 6 months for him to do my bathroom, as he was the only person I wanted to do it. I wouldn't hesitate to get him to renovate my entire house if it needed it!  He is also the hardest working person I have ever met, and completely trustworthy, as I am sure multiple other recommendations on this site will attest to.  If you are wondering why I'm going to so much trouble to recommend him it's simply because he's so good, and every time he does a new job I am reminded of how good he is. But he constantly undersells himself, underprices his work, and has such attention to detail and such high standards that he rarely earns what he deserves for the work he does!  His number is 07429171373.  Happy to chat to anyone who wants the recommendation in person (07745553232) Malcolm
