what I mean is that a lot of religious people believe that the bible is fact, based on actual things that happened. In reality it is a work of fiction tjat requires 'faith' to believe in a higher being. One could argue that Astrology is a higher power over which we have no control. I'm not sure any one has tried to pass it off as a 'science'.

Yes, I think some people do think that. And in fact, some of the things in the Bible are fact - e.g. Jesus was a historical figure, and stuff like that. A lot of it is more like opinion, isn't it?

I do think that astrologists think their thing is provable and scientific but I'm no expert. I don't think you can compare it with a religion, because it doesn't ask its followers to live in any particular way, which as far as I'm aware all religions do.

edited to say I think we're in synch now!

Leo:

Dignified, proud, regal, commanding, powerful, magnanimous, generous, strong-willed and reliable.

Cheerful and fond of games.

Physical characteristics: Stong well-formed back, red lips, Straight nose which is short with up-tilted nostrils, dignified poise, quick walk.

Well?

Yes, but some people because of their genetic makeup would never have red lips, except with the use of Red Sinner by Poppy King - which is fabulous, by the way. Anyway, it's a tedious, nit-picking and pedantic point so I'm going to drop it.

What are horses like, then? Or what's your occidental sign?

-and yes, I did mean the red lips.

Difficult to say as I think you have to be fairly objective.

As none of you know me it's a pointless exercise describing my characteristics but they are: deep feelings, passionate, extremes of behaviour, steadfast, determined.

Physical: deep-set eyes, steady gaze

My book doesn't say as much about us as, say, Leos. Harumph.

What is your sign and I'll have a look.

    • Adapted not forced.  As have numerous species around the world.  Sort of thing that Attenborough features.  Domestic dogs another good example - hung around communities for food and then we become the leader of the pack.  Not sure how long it will take foxes to domesticate, but some will be well on their way.    Raccoons also on the way https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1j8j48e5z2o
    • My memory, admittedly not very reliable these days, places the shop on the block on the left hand side just before Burgess Park going towards Camberwell. Have also found a reference to Franklins Antiques being located at 157 Camberwell Road which is on that block. This is a screen shot obtained from Google maps of that address which accords with my memory except the entrance door was on the right hand side, where the grey door is, rather than in the centre.
    • The MFI was probably where Iceland is now. This post makes me feel very old - went to a 30th birthday party in the garden at the back. Oh to be 30 again!
    • Anyone upgraded their TV for Christmas?! I'm looking for a smallish Smart TV I can use with earbuds. Not more than 56cm high and  25cm deep. A 26" one used to fit.  Thanks!
