Obviously it depends on the circumstances but I would certainly see them escorted from the bus way before it got to that stage. There is no justification for causing that much trouble the police have to be called to remove you from a public vehicle. I'm surprised no one on the bus thew them off, but then I don't know the circumstances.

Although I live in the (*cringe alert for some*) Upper East Side, I prefer to walk to Denmark Hill or even C'well Green to get a bus. Even then, I have to brave Walworth and Elephant, but at least I miss out on the damned road works on LL and the crush around King's. The walk takes about 35 - 40 mins, but it means I don't sit on a bus thinking 'I hate sitting on a bus'.

I am not sure whether the bus routes have had more buses put on them during the past few years when ED has seen a population growth, or at least a growth in the population that uses buses to get to and from work.

The buses on the 12 route have very poor suspension, and rattle and shake. The vehicles used on other bendy routes don't seem to be as bad.

At least the new, improved 176 vehicles don't have wooden floors, a la Mao era Shanghai trolley bus.

    • He wasn't great when interviewed on Channel 4 News this evening either, but he may get some respite tomorrow with the breaking Nandy story.
    • I was referring more to his performance at PMQs yesterday. It was quite a riot! Almost topped Mastermind
    • Agreed, he should not be held accountable over the mess up over release of prisoners. On the other hand he did himself no favours with his gaffes on the BBC Master Mind programme where he passed on five questions. Where he did answer, here are some of his responses.... When asked who succeeded Henry VIII, Lammy incorrectly answered “Henry VII,” When asked which French scientist won Nobel prizes for both physics and chemistry?” Lammy responded with “Antoinette” When asked which fortress was built to defend Paris and later used as a prison, he answered “Versailles". When asked which variety of blue English cheese is often taken with port, he answered "Leicester" If nothing else he was entertaining.
    • Why do you think he should be toast? All these problems with the prison service apparently go way back, long before Labour took over.
