Planning a holiday in July with our 4 year old daughter and my then 6 month bump.

We have been looking for AGES and no luck - can anyone help??

I'm easy - would be v. happy with a cheap-ish package holiday but husband wants something a bit nicer/posher

Ideally:-

France/Spain/Italy/Portugal - but other short flight options fine too

Nowhere where we need to hire a car - but a taxi from the airport is fine

Small but nice resort with a couple of pools and maybe a few other families around for kids to play together (we're not in English school hols - for the last time...)

Beach walking distance - and a few restaurants/cafes etc

Don't want a villa on our own

Everywhere seems to be very expensive Mark Warner type places or big high rise resorts.

Is there an in between out there??

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks!

I quite like some of the properties on here and they seem v helpful - http://totstotravel.co.uk/

Or some of the hotels in greece or the villas with kids clubs here are lovely - http://www.simpsontravel.com/luxury-family-holidays

As mentioned before on here Mallorca def fits your bill and somewhere like Puerto Pollensa is very doable without a car - an apart hotel or something there might be more affordable?

Pefki Islands resort in rhodes is lovely. Its close enough to restaurants but not too close its noisey. Has two pools plus kids one and you can also walk less than a minute to use the pool and facilities in linda thasalia resort which is run by same people. Place is very clean and staff so friendly. They also have kids club and entertainment of an wevening. Have a look on trip advisor for reviews and also thomson website

http://www.sultanpalasdalyan.co.uk we have been here twice, first with bump then with 6 mo it is run by a British man and his wife, lovely quiet area, everything is by boat, they collect you at the airport, breakfast and evening meal (Turkish food) inc pool, regular boats into town and another thought the reed beds to the beach, lots of trips available, nice little shops/caf?s/market in the town. We did a fab trip upriver to the lake were we swam, it was great.

It isn't walking distance to the beach but it has so much to offer.

    • Well whatever parcels it includes would reduce the queue, even if not completely. But I can't see that it's an option at the Lordship Lane office anyway. The bus stop surely wouldn't be moved, it's in a very convenient location.
    • Think there is a shoe recycling bin by the Plough pub too (in the carpark).
    • I haven't been there recently, but when I visited Love Dulwich, I thought it was really good value and the food was good.  Agree about Rye Lane - Peckham seems to have a lot of good places (and new places opening regularly).
