No, they don't, unfortunately. The High Court allowed a Judicial Review of the decision not to allow some Gurkhas to settle. The government must now review the case of the individuals in question, but is still allowed to come to the same view, provided they come to the decision `properly.'

Still, the case generated publicity, and the government will be trying to work out if it can still justify not giving them passports. If Jonanna Lumley does what she plans, and gets her 1 million or 2 millon signatures to deliver to Downing Street, one would hope somebody will take note.

Thanks for the kind words, monday I collected 100 signatures. But on Tuesday I did read that this had been resolved? I will try and get some more info and if this is not, I will carry on collecting signatures. 1000 was going to be my target, but as a Gurkha,s/or widows pension works out about ?240 a year maybe I will try for 2400 signatures.

    • Please be aware that there is a huge sheet of ice approx 12ft x 6ft on the road at the top end of Avondale Rise on the left hand side approaching Ivanhoe Road.  The council was told earlier this morning, but advised that, due to a reduced service, it is unlikely that grit /salt will be spread before Monday!  Several (thankfully minor) accidents have happened since this morning.  A resident has thoughtfully erected a temporary sign to advise traffic of the hazard, but bearing in mind that temperatures are due to fall to -4 over the weekend and this is on a bus route, please be very careful if driving on this road.
