Another power surge at 1.20am 27.4.14

Another power surge has just happened, it's knocked out the street lighting on LL at the Grove end, although Dulwich Common still has lighting.

Yep.... these seem to be a regular occurrence over the last few months! Totally unacceptable.

Very strange to see this happening especially in London. I'm used to living rurally where sometimes no street lights exist. Generators always kick in quick though. It's happened 3 times in last year on Dulwich Common, we are also having trouble with Estate lighting for months, although that now seems to be resolved. Lots if UK power network action around here in last few weeks. Maybe they are finally sorting it?

We are on belvoir road and same thing happened here ,just resetting all our clocks!

Also effected parts of Brockley also.

I'm just back from a weekend away and my sky box says power cut at 1.20 am Sunday morning can anyone tell me how long this lasted please as now everything is back up to speed -thinking about how long the freezer was off etc

For us (in honor oak park), power was out for about 2 seconds.

As fizzmoll says, it was 2 seconds. So quick that some of the appliances didn't go off.

How would I know that there had been a power surge and of what duration?

Most modern home alarm systems will notify you too if the power cut is longer than a couple of minutes.
