It seems Ghandi takeaway has closed. At least their numbers don't work and they're not doing on line takeaway orders and I can't be bothered to walk across the park to check.

Anyway, can anyone recommend takeaway Thai and/or Indian restaurants for the SE15 (East) side of Peckham Rye Park?

It's a bit late now because they're closed for the night, but for future reference Spices in Evelina Road are good if you just want to collect.

And any Indian takeaway in the area will deliver. I personally like Swadesh, Lordhip Lane. Never eaten in there but their take-aways are really nice.

Hi, we deliver in the SE15 area, please visit www.rannaghor.net and order.

Also recommend Indian Dining Club based in Gypsy Hill. I got their recommendation from here. You can order & pay online, plus they do free delivery. Plus points are that there are generous quantities of meat and the food is not oily. Also love Ganapati's (different type of food to Indian Dining Club).

    • Well I did say I stand to be corrected! Fair enough, their website only seemed to list three branches. Perhaps it's a franchise model?  It's known as 'agglomeration' in economics Rookie error.
    • I didn't know there was a word for that — thanks!
    • This is just normal business behaviour. That's why there are so many coffee shops in ED and shops selling gifts and interiors stuff, clothes, restaurants.  If there's more than one business of a similar type then it can benefit all of them up to a saturation point and keep up quality. It's all sounding like many think Chango has made a malicious move when it actually sounds like it's owned by one guy who has a good business that has done well.   Anyway this is all great advertising for both empanada places. Very close by is the organic grocer who sells really good value and very tasty samosas and other Indian snacks which are also worth trying.
