Another attack of the anti-fun brigade last night in brixton,

I went to see the foals at the academy and they were there the whole gig annoying people to sit down and stop having fun.

In every gig I've been there so far I've always been near the stage, I'd never been upstairs at the academy so I didn't know about these orange jumpered wankers.

What's the problem of standing and shaking your bum ?

it's a bloody gig!

if I was to sit, I'd rather go to a bus stop and read a book.

just like you do in a book club

from my experience of upstairs at the academy, you can hardly see bugger all even if you stand up at the back - if people are standing at the front then that's probably worse

I'm sure someone will say health n safety but I guarantee anyone who feel off would sue for every penny so I don't blame them

Now - the people who tell me to sit down at the likes of Wembley Arena when I'm already on the floor - grrrrrrrrrrrr

I think the problem at the Academy is that if people get up and jiggle around the balcony may collapse.

I remember being at a Leftfield gig there and the plaster was falling off the ceiling due to the bass.

if they were worried about our safety they would install a safety net

and then we could do some proper balcony diving!

something actually did collapse there once, the circle I think. Can't remember the band either but probably stone roses or the prodigy. I was working that night and a little worse for wear but I don't think anyone was hurt.
