Anti-social behaviour in ED - WARNING: Don't read this if you have no sense of humour

Recommended Posts

Why do you have to be so sarcastic LD? Several people have pointed out the poor taste in mocking a thread (and OP) who was clearly affected by what some would describe as an act of indecency. Are you really that insensitive?

Man 1 had about 3 fingers involved and it was more melted mozzarella than crust. Didn't hang about for any bridge waving, I was way too distressed for that.

The sneaky farter was only exposed after his buttocks made an audible clapping sound when he was unable to keep control of the flow of wind. I could tell all of this within the 30 seconds It took for man 2 to complete his evacuation, because I am one of the lucky few to have the East Dulwich 6th sense.

If you don't heed the warnings PT, I'm afraid it's your own responsibility now.

I suggest you stay as far away from this thread as you can, becoming overly offended can cause serious health problems.

I don't resort to assumptions about someones childhood when being challenged about my views, or resort to any other kind of insult either.

Do you not think to make fun of Cella's genuinely upsetting experience is insensitive? For most people, expressing a view on the thread itself is enough. To then go and start another thread to poke fun is another thing entirely. How do you think she will feel when she sees this thread. She at the very least is going to wonder why you are making fun of her. She may never have the confidence to post again. And sensitivity btw is a good thing. It's what makes some of us compassionate and caring.

I'm not the only one who thinks this thread is insensitive. It doesn't show you in a good light.

Just witnessed another nose digger at the lights by The Plough in a small white builders type van. Couldn't whip my phone out quickly enough to get a picture but I shouted at him just to let him know how disgusting I thought he was.

Can't believe the verbal abuse that was then directed at me. I am so upset. Verbal abuse is a crime you know. The police were very nice about it though.

I really need a hug right now and lots of sympathy from all you lovely EDF people. I know you will be just as outraged as me.

Otta, some people may find this thread worthy of humour but I'm sure a few others will agree that it's not funny if it's at the expense of someone else. Why shouldn't PokerTime query something that could be hurtful to the subject of the mockery and/or unpleasant for those who wouldn't want to be placed in the same position? We don't like the thread, but it's not always right to turn a blind eye and 'avoid'.

Naaaa, wot otta said.

whatever we may think of Cella's actions, she decided to broadcast it to the world, seeking what I don't know, public approbation? At which point it's public property; why the hell should we be sensitive to her outrage when many of us think she was behaving like an idiot, whether doing what she did *or* deciding to tell everyone about it.

It's like a four year old shouting pooh and then getting scolded and sulking thinking 'but i was rewarded with laughter last time'

Worthy of mockery if you ask me.

This thread IS funny. Rabelaisian, even.

And if some females are offended at being tagged as a solicitor... well, "soliciting" used to be a newspaper-printable term for a particular time-hallowed profession. No wonder they're all fluffed out and ears back.

    • Here's the part of march46's linked-to Southwark News article pertaining to Southwark Council. "Southwark Council were also contacted for a response. "Councillor James McAsh, Cabinet Member for Clean Air, Streets & Waste said: “One of Southwark’s key priorities is to create a healthy environment for our residents. “To achieve this we closely monitor legislation and measures that influence air pollution – our entire borough apart from inland waterways is designated as a Smoke Control Area, and we also offer substantial provision for electric vehicles to promote alternative fuel travel options and our Streets for People strategy. “We as a council support the work of Mums for Lungs and recognise the health and environmental impacts of domestic solid fuel burning, particularly from wood-burning appliances. “We are currently updating our Enforcement Policy and changes will allow for the issuing of civil penalties ranging from £175 to £300 for visible smoke emissions, replacing the previous reliance on criminal prosecution.  “This work is being undertaken in collaboration with other London boroughs as part of the pan-London Wood Burning Project, which aims to harmonise enforcement approaches and share best practice across the capital.” ETA: And here's a post I made a few years ago, with tangential relevance.  https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/278140-early-morning-drone-flying/?do=findComment&comment=1493274
    • The solicitor is also the Executor. Big mistake, but my Aunt was very old, and this was the Covid years and shortly after so impossible to intervene and get a couple of close relatives to do this.  She had no children so this is the nephews and nieces. He is a single practitioner, and most at his age would have long since retired - there is a question over his competence Two letters have already gone essentially complaining - batted off and 'amusingly' one put the blame on us. There are five on our side, all speaking to each other, and ideally would work as a single point of contact.  But he has said that this is not allowed - we've all given approval to act on each others behalf. There are five on her late husband's side, who have not engaged with us despite the suggestion to work as a team, There is one other, who get's the lion's share, the typicical 'friend', but we are long since challenging the will. I would like to put another complaint together that he has not used modern collective communication (I expect that he is incapable) which had seriously delayed the execution of the will.   I know many in their 80s very adept with smart phones so that is not an ageist comment. The house has deteriorated very badly, with cold, damp and a serious leak.  PM me if you want to see the dreadful condition that it is now in. I would also question why if the five of us are happy to work together why all of us need to confirm in writing.             The house was lived in until Feb 23, and has been allowed to get like this.
    • Isn’t a five yearly electricity safety certificate one of the things the landlord must give for a legal tenancy?
    • Very sorry to hear this, but surely the landlord is responsible for fixing the electrics?  Surely they must be insured for things like this? I hope you get it all sorted out quickly.
