Nice segue there from sweets to booze - is it Christmas morning yet?

We had a great Halloween! Lots of visitors, starting with very sweet small witches and devils accompanied by their parents, and as the evening wore on graduated to older and cheekier skeletons and werewolves who were fun to banter with.

Michael Palaeologus and the Moosling in their matching outfits were also very cute, although one of them was a bit scared of the werewolf and clung on very tightly until he went away.

If you missed out on visitors, try displaying a pumpkin next year - apparently it's a recognised 'sign' meaning that trick-or-treaters are welcome.

Rather late on the thread but round here, people who welcome trick or treaters put lit pumpkins outside the houses. Children only knock on those doors. Stops unwanted callers and keeps the kids happy!! I thought this was what happened everywhere in ED..........

1St Year in ED loads of children in our road trick treating sounded like they were having great fun but no callers for us,just as well was sick with chest infection so couldnt get to shops to get treats for them.

fireworks afterwards and several house parties but nothing of nuisance.#

not like in bellenden road had fireworks hit our windows not intentual i dont hink.

    • If you want to self cater and do it yourself, why not try one of the rooms in a church..  one I am thinking about has a huge room with kitchen and toilets… parking on site.. and another one worth considering is the church near Dulwich Library , top of Barry Road..  pm if you want more info and of course.. all the pubs on Lordship Lane. if you want further afield, Rosendale Pub has rooms above bar area that you can also hire…  Alleyns Head also good - section off a section of the pub for  your sole use and parking on site.. although, might not work if try want to dance and play there own music. Kingwood House might also be worth considering…
    • Upstairs at The Castle in Crystal Palace Road is a nice space. It has been refurbished. It has a small bar and a small dance space. Rob the landlord is helpful and friendly, as are the bar staff. I will PM you.
    • Hi. Trying to find a small venue for an 18th birthday, any suggestions? Everything’s really expensive.
    • Thank you both. That's really helpful. Will see if we have the budget left next year when we've finished some other work on the house, but would love to do this.
