He's still out there, in fact I just saw two, off to watch the footy at The Bird in Hand, a full on Geezer Boozer in Dartmouth Road

Shaved head, stocky built, wearing shorts along with an all year round tan, fading tat's and Reebok Classics

I somehow feel reassured when I see a proppa Geezer (not to be mistaken for a 'bloke' or a 'fella') ,it's like somethings don't change and I like that. No matter how many Hipsters, Flip Flops, Fops or new Dads move in to populate the local areas, there's still room for the resolute Geezer

Sydenham retains its full quota I'm pleased to say

"Go on my Son"

"Alright geezer"

"Geezer"

Blockheads! Oi Oi!

You must have seen parties of Blockheads

With blotched and lagered skin

Blockheads with food particles in their teeth

What a horrible state they're in

They've got womanly breasts under pale mauve vests

Shoes like dead pigs' noses

Cornflake packet jacket, catalogue trousers

A mouth what never closes

You must have seen Blockheads in raucous teams

Dressed up after work

Who screw their poor old Eileens

Get sloshed and go berserk

Rotary accessory watches

Hire-purchase signet rings

A beauty to the bully boys

No lonely vestige clings

Why bother at all about Blockheads?

Why shouldn't they do as they please?

You know if it came to a brainy game

You could baffle a Blockhead with ease

How would you like one puffing and blowing in your ear-hole?

Or pissing in your swimming pool?

Bigger brained Blockheads often acquire

Black and orange cars

Premature ejaculation drivers

Their soft-top's got roll-bars

'Fill her up,' they say to Blockheads

'Go on, stick it where it hurts'

Their shapeless haircuts don't enhance

Their ghastly patterned shirts

Why bother at all about Blockheads?

Superior as you are

You're thoughtful and kind with a well-stocked mind

A Blockhead can't think very far

Imagine finding one in your laundry basket

Banging nails in your big black dog

Why bother at all about Blockheads?

Why should you care what they do?

Cos after all is said and done

You're a Blockhead too

Blockheads

Blockheads

Blockheads

(oi oi)

Blockheads

(oi, oi)...

With usual addition of a gold chain around the neck, sovereign ring perhaps, a nice "cut here" tattoo tastefully round the neck, or perhaps a tasteful leaping Millwall lion tat on the calf. Winners one and all.

Equally many are shite, as we all know. Same shite.

    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertises times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
    • Adapted not forced.  As have numerous species around the world.  Sort of thing that Attenborough features.  Domestic dogs another good example - hung around communities for food and then we become the leader of the pack.  Not sure how long it will take foxes to domesticate, but some will be well on their way.    Raccoons also on the way https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1j8j48e5z2o
    • My memory, admittedly not very reliable these days, places the shop on the block on the left hand side just before Burgess Park going towards Camberwell. Have also found a reference to Franklins Antiques being located at 157 Camberwell Road which is on that block. This is a screen shot obtained from Google maps of that address which accords with my memory except the entrance door was on the right hand side, where the grey door is, rather than in the centre.
