Broadband

Hi,

We will be moving to East Dulwich next week (16 June) and were wondering if someone can recommend a reliable broadband provider in the area? We have been with Virgin for the past year and the service and our overall experience have been horrible. The engineer has confirmed we are being effected by a high utilisation in the area.

What's your experience with broadband providers in ED?

we used sky for the last 10 years in ED until BT sport this year - have switched and all i will say both are good but BT doesn't reach my bedroom whereas sky did.

both i would recommend.

BT more as its cost effective

The best one in East Dulwich is Zen internet. It's a bit more pricy but consistently gets the best reviews by miles. The big ones are cheaper tend to be fine until there is an issue and then you find out what they are really like unfortunately.

I use Plusnet, which apparently has been a Which Best Buy for years.

Have always found it reliable, excellent customer service, good value for money, WiFi works all over the house and garden.

On one rare occasion when it was down, I posted about it on here to see if anybody else had problems, and a Plusnet customer service rep actually posted on the thread to explain what the issue was.

I use Plusnet too and had the same experiences as Sue - amazing customer service even after the BT engineer that came to install the telephone line did an absolutely shoddy job. Only had one outage which didn't last very long at all.

Plusnet were bought by BT and their ratings have slipped ever since.

Thank you all for your comments. I've heard that about Plusnet too. Still their ratings are pretty good. Zen internet looks very promising.

Plusnet have been owned by BT ever since I was with them, and I have nothing but good things to say about them, hence my post above.

ETA: What do you mean, "their ratings have slipped ever since"? What evidence is there for that?

Plusnet have always been part of BT. I have been with them almost from the day they started. Wouldn't go with anyone else.

Have bt business infinity (fibre) as my girlfriend works from home. It's very fast (consistent 35mb download speeds) very reliable (guaranteed 99% reliability; had it 16 months with no problem at all) but expensive.
