Convex
Having had a fairly crappy experience at all fired up with a crappy outcome, I'd like to make a second attempt at a Father's Day gift (which will clearly be late!) I don't want to try all fired up again as they were not interested in me at all... Incomplete instructions, no help, and didn't care that I was unhappy at the end. Are there any recommendations! Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/45598-alternative-to-all-fired-up/ Share on other sites

shelly2012
I was their today as it was my daughters 6 birthday . By the time I came out I was not happy at all . The staff were rude to my mother-law then must have relised because came over and said sorry to her and asked her if she wanted a cup off tea . Forgot to bring juice out for the children I had to ask where the juice was and kept going off to the toliet doing her hair in different hairstyles . Then to top it all trying to charge me for 12 children when only had 11 children at the party . A party off 11 children did not work out cheep it seem like they just wanted your money and that was it ... Also few months ago I went back to collect my daughters pot she painted and the one that was their was not her one . They had gave her one to a different Layla . They told me their was nothink they could do as the other Layla never brought it back . They should have let my daughter do another one as it was their fault . lulu1
There is a place on Wood Vale where you can do pottery painting (or at least you used to, it's a few years ago I last was there). Really lovely place, a studio in the back of a large garden. The lady who owns the place is lovely. Much more personal, relaxed and certainly more fun. No idea if they would cater for birthday parties though. The telephone number I've got for them is: 85160002, 39 Wood Vale, SE23 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/45598-alternative-to-all-fired-up/#findComment-755875 Share on other sites
minder
Sorry about your experience Convex. If you were there today then it's too late to get anything done for Father's Day tomorrow as pieces take 24 hrs in a kiln or something to set once they are done and then have to be picked up.This happened last year when my daughter and her two cousins went in to make something for their Nan who was not well. When I phoned and explained the situation to All fired up they were really helpful and my Mum received it. KidKruger
Leaving stuff to absolute last minute is putting yourself in the position (and at mercy) of being caught-out when things don't go to script. The shop may have overlooked X or Y but the situation you're left in is down to your timing. You don't get the last possible train to an interview or the airport, you make sure you get there in time, you own the situation. Father's Day perhaps not worthy of this level of care ? kristymac1
Captured on the Rye, the cafe and gift shop on pellet Road do spin painting, and will frame your art work or turn it into a card - nice thing for the kids to do, it's fairly instant gratification and the results are always really nice. cactus
KidKruger - very unfair comments, the OP clearly hasn't left anything to the last minute if you readher post correctly. Convex
Hello,It wasn't bad timing - I picked up the item on the Saturday as that was when it was ready.they need a week or so to get everything through the kiln which is fair enough.I was unhappy anyway due to a few reasons but basically the thing we made didn't come out well due to not getting the instructions you need in order to do it right.I'd like to make something which will obvs be late. Thanks for the alternative suggestions. Mariamadeit
Depending on what you are looking for as an alternative, I can put children's prints into silver to make a key ring/picture frame/cufflinks etc. www.mariamadeit.co.uk Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/45598-alternative-to-all-fired-up/#findComment-756782 Share on other sites
