Mrs TP
Yes a ?1 here but I have had adults including a dental nurse raise their eyebrows at me like that is not enough! nunheadmum
We made the mistake with the first one of going with ?2 as it seemed like a prettier coin - slightly more tooth-fairy like. Forgot how many teeth kids have!!! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/45695-tooth-fairy-going-rate/#findComment-756411 Share on other sites
kristymac1
?1 the norm here, although the Tooth Fairy pushed the boat out last time with a shiny ?2 coin - on account of the tooth being knocked out (by Toddler brother's head) rather than falling out..... Pickle
For teeth that fall out quicker than expected and catch her unawares (or with nothing smaller than ?5), the tooth fairy has been known to raid children's money boxes and recycle a coin given previously. While she feels a slight amount of guilt for adopting this slightly unsavoury approach, she has also saved a considerable amount of money by doing so...(Might not get away with it now that son is using his tooth fairy money to buy World Cup stickers for his album) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/45695-tooth-fairy-going-rate/#findComment-756431 Share on other sites
canela
this tooth fairy when caught unawares has been known to get into debt with own children who then charge a penny per day until said debt repaid! rachel83
My daughter asked for 5p for her first tooth that fell out as she is 5 years old. She then demanded 6p for the 2nd to fall out, even though she is still 5. No more have fallen out since but I presume 7p is next! I'm not keen to give her any coins. She just loses them or is she doesn't lose them, then she's too much of a tightwad to part with any of her own pennies for low value treats (penny sweets etc) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/45695-tooth-fairy-going-rate/#findComment-756453 Share on other sites
BeccaL
50p, but that's definitely lower than the tooth fairy pays most of her friends! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/45695-tooth-fairy-going-rate/#findComment-756648 Share on other sites
Saffron
My boss has an international tooth fairy, who sometimes leaves Euros or Swiss Francs for his children. (Presumably left over from their ski holidays - we should all be so lucky!!) Mrs TP
Two of mine had teeth fall out whilst on hols in Spain and deftly worked out it was better to wait until they came home to get a pound coin rather than a Euro coin. With her last tooth, my eldest who is 12, said to me before going to bed you may as well just give me the pound now to save creeping into my room later. sillywoman
50p here too, though the South London tooth fairy is very busy and doesn't always come THAT night - sometimes she takes a few days (weeks) to collect (remember or find the right cash). Jacbuc
Our fairy leaves ?1, cleaned up with tomato sauce - my little one was delighted with what he thought was a real golden coin.
