it's definiteley re-openning .... as a ........ and wait for it .... as a "salon de the"! Sorry can't find acute accent on my keyboard =(

Not only will it be a tea shop but also sell chandeliers and ... and ... and ...... damn it I've forgotten what else.. but it's a crazy combination anyway. I live nearby and was told by Mr Bell sr (used to own Bells Plumbing merchants) .. so I have it on good authority. That is presuming Mr Bell still has his full set of marbles!

Think confusing 2 different places. Karavan is being tarted up by the same owner, whether with the same type of stock remains to be seen. The old antiques shop Le Chandelier is going to be a salon de the. We look forward to welcoming Dulwich Mum to the top end of the lane. Nice to have somewhere to stop for refreshments between the fishmongers and the butchers.

    • Some of you may have never been to a post office on a Saturday when one or more people are posting their ebay parcels and you wait yonks.  Just one of those things.  I'm more concerned about the speed of the Royal Mail.  I may start a thread on this!
    • If you're going British, Marks and Sparks do a fantastic Cornish Cruncher Cheddar (get the three year old if it's on offer) and a Stilton/Stichelton which are wrapped in something more like wax paper.  I'm pretty sure they used to do a Stinking Bishop which had minimal plastic wrapping, as well.
    • Thanks to everybody for the responses. Agree that £50-60 is somewhat excessive so supermarket is likely to be the route we take.
    • If you can track down the owners of the now defunct Heritage Cheese in the village, there could be some stock-clearance bargains if you don't mind your cheese a little pre-nibbled.
