As a rule HIGNFY is the only one of the million panel shows I'll watch, but if I'm curled up on the settee, i don't mind NMTB, Simon Amstell does make me chuckle.

James would have liked him last night

"Katie Perry who sang the song 'UR so gay', she of course means gay in the trendy new definition, meaning bad. God she's such a jew!! She shouldn't be so black about everything..etc."

There's something about Mark Lamarr that just makes me feel I wouldn't want to be trapped in a lift with him.

Anyway I think it's unfair of the BBC to employ two people - both called Mark - with the same haircut.

As they say: "An evening stuck in a lift with Mark Kermode to our winners; and evening stuck in a lift with Mark Lamarr to our losers".

I disagree Keef, he was funny on that too. Really sarcy to all the rubbish interviewees. I seem to remember him really upsetting the Kooks, you can't ask for more than that can you?

I never used to watch NMTB when Lamarr presented it, but these days it is very funny (if you like puerile humour, which I do).

Maybe had I seen that I would have felt differently about him. They couldn't just relax and be funny though, it's like everything they said had to be somehow really sharp and cool and funny. It just got on my tits to be honest.

He seems to have grown out of it though.

lamarr was a prick. i went to a few of the live recordings when he was the host and his crass attempts at humour were limited to taking the piss out of disabled people. i gave him the benefit of the doubt and went to another one and it was just more of the same, cheap laughs. as for jupitus ,the most unfunny person in comedy, at least having amstel in the hot seat gives him the chance to remove his tongue from up lamarrs hole.

I used to go to loads of the live recordings (free tickets, free drink, suited me perfectly!) - couldn't stand Mark Lamarr, came across as so arrogant, completely lacking in comic ability IMO. He put me off the show completely, haven't watched it since Simon started hosting - maybe I'll give it a try!

    • https://www.assistancedogs.org.uk/information-hub/assistance-dogs-emotional-support-dogs-and-therapy-dogs/   hello   i’d be interested to understand if anyone.has experience of Assistance Dogs especially for autistic children of different ages for emotional support and therapy   There was a prior thread on this topic on EDF 10 hrs ago but it had limited experiences and there was a (claimed) change in UK legislation in 2019. Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
    • Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal. Could you please check sheds, garages, or anywhere she might have got stuck please? And if you could keep an eye out or share on any local groups/forums, we’d really appreciate it. Photo attached.   Thanks so much! My name is Jeff on 07956 910068.
    • Colin.    One for the old school.   Just saying.
