charlie82
Hi Guys,Came across this forum on my searches of the ED area and it's great to have a community at the tip of your finger tips. I've been approaching several estate agents as I'd like to invest in a buy to let property in the area. Although estate agents have excellent knowledge in this field I thought it better to ask the community about the areas, get a non-biased view so to speak, can anyone recommend some good areas to invest in? Basically which areas do you think is up and coming or buzzing right now? Many ThanksCharlie Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/47510-buying-an-investment-property-in-ed/ Share on other sites

Louisa
-100/10 Come on. You've wasted a whole setting up of an account for this? I could go off on a class rant and still score better out of 10, even after all these years. Disappointed.Louisa. El Pibe
perhaps it would have worked better in the main room rather than the cynical old leathery souls that make up the lounge.Though an obvious choice it was done with a simple earnestness and none of the usual tells, so i thought it might stand a chance. It was blown dead in the water in here though!!! :D Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/47510-buying-an-investment-property-in-ed/#findComment-770587 Share on other sites

red devil
I thought it read quite earnest, a distinct lack of exclamation marks too!!!They haven't been on the forum since posting. Don't most trolls lurk to see if their bait has been taken?Or could we be dealing with a sleeper, deliberately lying low, or has another account from which to lurk... Seabag
Crystal Palace road is hummingMainly because of the stop/start drone of motor vehicles, as they decelerate/accelerate over all 21 speed humpsMy cousin lives in Upland Road, if you like VW camper vans, buy there. Jeremy
OK, serious(ish) answer... close to a station. Forest Hill and Peckham Rye are areas which are improving and probably have more scope for appreciation than ED, in which the gentrification process probably ran its course a few years ago. Mick Mac
If it's an investment for capital growth it's possible you could be investing at the top of the market, but thats been the risk for some years now. It's possible shares could be a better bet of course but if investing in property it should be ok in the long term. In general if property falls it falls across the board as confidence falls everywhere so I'd not expect Lewisham etc to do better just because it's cheaper now.
